Additional Study Spaces During Exams
To help you find extra study space during exams, we've booked DL012, FB110, and W022 from December 9 to 21. These rooms are open Monday to Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.—no booking required!
The Student Life Centre (SLC) is also open from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., with rooms available for two-hour bookings. Take advantage of these additional spaces to ensure you have a quiet place to prepare for your exams. For SLC room bookings, visit King's Room Booking.

Exam Shuttles
Planning to use the King’s/Western shuttles for your exams? A special exam shuttle schedule runs seven days a week from December 7 to 22. Check out the details.
Exam Taxi Chits
Studying late on campus during exams? Taxi transportation (up to $11) is available from December 6 to 21, between 10:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., to get you from King’s to Western. Check out the details.

Be a Storyteller: SSHRC's 2025 Challenge!
The SSHRC Storytellers Challenge is your chance to shine! Share how social sciences and humanities research impacts our lives in up to three minutes or 300 words. Top 20 finalists win $3,000 each and a chance to compete for an additional $1,000 as a Final 5 winner.
Submit a song, poem, infographic, short essay, video, or audio clip by January 21, 2025.

Montreal Massacre Memorial and Vigil
December 5, 2024

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, a memorial will be held with speakers addressing the topic of Gender-Based Sexual Violence (GBSV). A King's student, a King's faculty member, and an advocate from Anova will be speaking.
A week of events will be held leading up to the Memorial, including:

a student art exhibit in Labatt Hall the week of December 2, 2024.

a poster exhibit on December 5, 2024, in the SLC of those killed in the Massacre.
The memorial will be held on December 5, as December 6 is the last day of classes.

Meet Mai Al Hourani
During Fall Reading Week, Mai Al Hourani, a fourth-year BMOS Finance student, job shadowed a fourth-grade teacher at Old North Public School. This experience gave her valuable insights into teaching responsibilities and career paths, while also helping her build connections in the field. She encourages students interested in education to explore job shadowing opportunities, as it’s an excellent way to clarify career goals and make valuable connections for the future!

Buildings and food services are still open for this week as exams come to an end. There is special hours of operation for the Thames Market, Café 54 and Subway. See the full list of hours.

King's Shuttle Route Changes
Starting Monday, December 2, the University Gate and Alumni House shuttle stops will be unavailable due to construction at Western. The closest eastbound stop will now be Elgin Hall, and the closest westbound stops will be Talbot College or Epworth Ave.

On Christmas Eve, we will celebrate Eucharist at 7 p.m. On Christmas Day, we will celebrate Eucharist at 10 a.m.
Liturgies
Please note that December 15, 2024, marks the last Sunday 5 p.m. Mass and community meal for the first term. We will continue to have Sunday 10 a.m. Mass. 5 p.m. will resume on January 12, 2025. Our daily masses will resume until January 16, 2025, (with the exception of 7 p.m. Mass on January 7, 2025).
Note: All liturgies during the Christmas Break take place at the Chapel at Windermere on the Mount.

King’s volunteer ministry at St. Joe’s Café (soup kitchen) continues on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. New dates have just dropped from December - May.

Christmas Care Bags
Donations of new items (toiletries, chocolates, waterproof gloves, hats, etc.) are being accepted from the King’s community until December 8, 2024, to add to packages that will be distributed at St. Joe’s Café on December 14, 2024.
