FRIENDS' BUS TRIP TO THE CLOISTERS
Bus departs on Thursday, October 12 @ 9:30am
from St. Mary's Church parking lot in Washingtonville, NY

Our Friends group is very excited to present a bus trip to The Cloisters!

The Cloisters, a replica of a medieval monastery, rises from the towering cliffs of Fort Tryon Park in the Washington Heights section of northern Manhattan. A designated NYC landmark, it incorporates parts of actual Romanesque & Gothic cloisters from five medieval European monasteries, a Romanesque chapel, & a 12th-century Spanish apse.

Our adventure begins at 9:30am, when a West Point Coach bus will depart from St Mary’s Church parking lot (42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY). We expect to arrive at the Cloisters around 11:30am.

At 12pm, we will enjoy an hour-long staff-guided tour of interior gothic structures and art works. The rest of the day is yours to explore the cloistered gardens and exterior landscape with vistas of the Hudson River or to revisit areas of interest including the special exhibit of over 50 art works that explore the role of class & medieval household objects.

Lunch is on your own. Refreshments and light fare are available for purchase at the onsite King John Tavern. Picnicking is allowed only on the adjacent Fort Tryon park.

The bus will depart at 3pm for its return to Washingtonville around 5pm.

The cost is $70/person and includes the cost of the bus, museum entrance & guided 1-hour tour. Cash or check only. Make checks payable to FOML. Please note that your payment is non-refundable. Space is limited. Registration & full payment is due by September 20, 2023. Register at the circulation desk at the Moffat Library now!

For more information, please call 845-496-5483 ext 323.
