Tidbits from Tracy
A note from Chapter President, Tracy D. Miller,
1 BY 1 ROOF & Restoration 1 of Tucson
Hello NAWIC Members and Friends,
Thanksgiving 2022 has come and gone! I hope all of our members, their families, and their friends enjoyed a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Gobble, Gobble!
The NAWIC Tucson Board is busy preparing events for 2023. They have come up with a lot of great ideas that we will be moving forward on. Stay tuned for updates on the Membership Meetings for 2023!
Southern Arizona Construction Career Days 2022 was a blast and a great success! Approximately 4,000 students were in attendance for the two-day event, and we had the opportunity to speak to them about women in the construction industry and the support NAWIC provides. The students also had a great time playing cornhole and experiencing the impaired goggles. Thank you to all who helped with the event! We are looking forward to next year. Shout out to Debra Keiser, Amanda Frank, Candice Perkins, Becky Johnson, Michelle Valenzuela, Tamera Diaz, and Vanessa Guzzo! You are all rock stars. A special thank you to Meredith for taking the lead on setting up the equipment needed to make the games so much fun! Couldn’t have done it without you! (See pictures on NAWIC’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages.)
Hopefully, everyone enjoyed our speaker’s presentation at our November Membership Dinner on November 9th. Diana Charbonneau (President of AAUW), Monica Wilson, (WELL AP, LEED AP), and Becky Johnson, (Swaim Associates). They gave a very uplifting presentation, sharing their own personal experiences working in this industry.
