Some of us truly can’t resist temptation! We’re all too susceptible to that classic tagline from the potato-chip commercials: “Bet you can’t eat just one!” Something similar was true of a certain woman named Eve, whose story we think we know well. Worship with us Sunday to learn something you may not know! ~ Pastor Todd

Join us in the atrium this Sunday during fellowship time between services for refreshments provided by the Acts Sunday School Class!

HONOR SOMEONE WITH A CROSS

The Aesthetics Committee will be accepting crosses during Lent. If you would like to donate a cross to be hung in memory of or in honor of someone, please turn it in to the church office with a note attached stating the name of the donor and name of the honoree. The crosses will be placed on one of the church's three cross walls by Easter. Please contact Kathy Graves 864-364-0648 or Joyce Carney

864-723-5622 with any questions.

The Elderberries Ministry not only promotes fun, food, and fellowship among our senior disciples -- we also offer opportunities to serve our community. Join us at the Ann Hope Feeding Ministry in Seneca on Wednesday, March 1 as we prepare and serve dinner to those in need. We plan to serve 150-200 people and need volunteers to help cook in the kitchen and to serve the food. We will meet at Ann Hope UMC at 3:30 pm. For more information or to sign up, contact Susan Salis or Kristine Montgomery. All ages welcome!

Please join us in Celebrate! Worship at 9 am in the Saint Mark Center as we celebrate Scouting Ministry at Saint Mark UMC. Scouts and families from Saint Mark’s Scouting groups will be with us, and the Scouts will be helping Pastor Todd lead worship.

This is our final Thursday in February featuring ways to celebrate and honor Black History Month. We hope each Saint Mark disciple has learned something each week.

Here are additional learning opportunities. Explore and learn! And try to make Black History a year-round goal! It’s not too late to send in what you did to honor Black History Month. Send to monaguyfleming@att.net.

1) For those who love music, here are some UMC articles on the history of hymns. Click on the graphics below to read this interesting history of hymns.

History of Hymns: "I Shall Not Be Moved"

History of Hymns: "I'm So Glad Jesus Lifted Me"

History of Hymns: "We Shall Overcome"

2) If you haven’t discovered it already, learn about the Woodland Cemetery and African American Burial Ground Historic Preservation at Clemson University. Click on the graphic below and check out this amazingly interesting project.

3) What would happen if each of us as followers of Christ prayed for peace and love among all races? It could change the world! The UMC provides daily prayers for anti-racism. What better month to begin praying for anti-racism than Black History Month!! Click on the following link to see these prayers and to sign up for daily prayers.
