Students with a growth mindset:

1) Embrace challenges

2) Learn from feedback

3) Persist through setbacks

Wahoo Elementary Giving Tree & VFW Toy Drive

Thank you to all the families who donated to the giving tree. All your support is part of what makes Wahoo Elementary special. Your caring and support for all students helps make Wahoo Elementary great!

As part of the holiday season the staff members at Wahoo Elementary School teamed up to raise $1,284.00 for the VFW toy drive.

Helping Students Transition Back to School After Winter Break

Winter break and the associated holidays inject some fun into an otherwise dull, cold time of year. But when the festivities end in the new year, kids often struggle with the transition back to routine, rules, and homework. Returning to the classroom doesn't invoke the same excitement as back to school season in August, and summer break feels overwhelmingly far away.

So how can you help your whole family get back into the swing of things? See the attached article for some tips to help your students get back into the flow of the school year.

Tips for Transitioning Back to School

Parental Involvement

Wahoo Elementary welcomes participation of parents and community members in our school! If you are looking for ways to go "ABOVE and BEYOND" as a parent, please click on the button below.

Parental Involvement Opportunties

Personal Devices at School

Many families send their child to school with a personal device of some kind (cell phone, iPod, high-tech watch). Often, parents do this as a safety measure so students can call/text as they travel between school and home. However, the growing number and types of these devices pose a significant distraction during school hours. Moving forward, all devices (including watches) that have the ability to text/call will be kept in backpacks from 7:45 to 3:15. Students are not to use these devices until they leave the elementary building.
