GIFT DRIVE FOR VINELAND VETERANS

Donations Now Being Accepted for

VFW Post 1963 Auxiliary's

Annual "Christmas Caravan"

To make the holiday season brighter for the residents of the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, the members of VFW Post 1963’s Auxiliary are collecting gifts that they will personally deliver to the Memorial Home during Post 1963’s annual “Christmas Caravan” on December 6. To ensure that the Christmas Caravan is a success – and the veterans will receive a variety of gifts – the Auxiliary is asking the public to donate pre-packaged snacks, arts-and-crafts supplies, adult coloring books, 300-piece jigsaw puzzles, comfortable loungewear, bedroom slippers, socks, pajamas, toiletries, batteries, small craft kits, and other items that are appropriate for residents of a retirement home. All donations must be delivered by November 30 to Post 1973, at 301 JFK Boulevard, Sea Isle City, NJ, 08243. To make the shopping process easier for those making donations, a special Amazon Account has been created that will allow shoppers to ship their purchases directly to VFW Post 1963:

HYDRANT FLUSHING

Water System Maintenance is Underway

During the month of November, the SIC Water Department will be flushing out the water distribution system through the city’s fire hydrants and exercising water valves throughout town. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement of the Water Quality Accountability Act. If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage you to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water-using devices during flushing operations.
