An Episcopal Path to Creation Justice

Want to be one of the 6 pilot congregations?

With the support of a Creation Care grant from the Episcopal Church’s Task Force on Creation Care and Environmental Racism, the two Massachusetts dioceses will launch a six-month pilot version of An Episcopal Path to Creation Justice in October 2023.

The program aims to provide individualized support for congregations to take meaningful steps in response to the climate emergency.

During the pilot phase, we will monitor and evaluate the impact of the Path on the 12 parishes enrolled. The pilot phase will conclude on Earth Day 2024.

After a thorough review and revision of the Path, we aim to open the Path to all Episcopal dioceses and to other members of the Anglican Communion during General Convention 2024.

Message from Episcopal Church Women

United Thank Offering Summer 2023 Communication

"Thank you to everyone who, through a personal spiritual discipline of gratitude, contributed to the United Thank Offering’s 2021 Ingathering. As a result of your gratitude and generosity, we have $1,051,154.14 available to award in 2022.

This year, the focus for applications was 'Care of Creation: Turning love into action by caring for God’s creation to protect the most vulnerable—who will bear the largest burden of pollution and climate change through justice, advocacy, environmental reparations, or the development of formational materials.' Remember that every penny given to the United Thank Offering is given away to support innovative mission and ministry in The Episcopal Church."

Film Screening Tomorrow: Kiss the Ground

The Good News Gardens Network of Massachusetts, in partnership with the Wright-Locke Farm Conservancy in Winchester, is pleased to invite you to a screening of the acclaimed documentary film Kiss the Ground on Wednesday, September 13 at 6:00 p.m. (optional 5:00 p.m. farm tour).

In the film, a revolutionary group of activists, scientists, farmers, and politicians band together in a global movement of "Regenerative Agriculture" that could balance our climate, replenish our vast water supplies, and feed the world. The screening will be followed by a discussion about how farmers are responding to climate change in our community and how to implement regenerative techniques into your own farms, backyards, community gardens, and beyond.

The Creation Care Justice Network in Massachusetts is a group of Episcopalians from across our state who are committed to faith-based environmental justice and climate action. They draw upon the strong environmental messages from our bishops and The Episcopal Church as well as our diocesan mission to protect creation and seek ways to work collaboratively to address the climate crisis in a just and equitable way.
