March 22, 2023

Gala is Saturday, April 15 and it’s shaping up to be a St. Catherine’s party like you’ve never seen! We need you to make this night a success. Here are the four ways you can help (you’re not limited to just one; feel free to mix and match):

Sponsor a Table

We are three tables away from our goal. Gather your crew and purchase your table now. If you can’t make the event, you could purchase a table and donate it back to the gala.

Become an Underwriter

As an underwriter, you are helping us plan a great party by covering event expenses.

Purchase Tickets

Go ahead and get your tickets now to join us at the gala.

Make a Donation

Not a "gala person"? You can always make a donation! All proceeds from this gala will fund renovations of the main house and construction of a new outdoor classroom at our Japhet Campus.

Main House Floor Plan

New Outdoor Classroom

Our Adolescent Community has been learning and working at Japhet since 2017, devoting time and creative energy to improving the campus. Now, we are taking the exciting and necessary step to evolve Japhet to better serve the needs of our adolescents and provide unique outdoor educational opportunities for all St. Catherine’s students.

Japhet has been such a blessing to our community. This renovation and new construction will transform it into the kind of prepared environment that our children and adolescents enjoy each day on main campus.

We look forward to receiving your support for the gala as we raise the roof for Japhet!

Know Your NeuroWhereAbouts: Brain-based Parenting Strategies

Parents, caregivers, and school staff who know NeuroWhereAbouts understand phases of brain development and they shape executive functioning skills accordingly. Dr. Crystal Collier, author of The NeuroWhereAbouts Guide, will define brain-based parenting and how to easily integrate brain-savvy prevention skills into daily practice. In this presentation, Dr. Collier will describe the prevention science principles that work to increase youth skills and prevent engagement in high-risk behavior such as technology overuse and video game addiction.

The event will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the SCM gym and will include lunch. It is open to all of our St. Catherine's families and friends.

INSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Spring Break may be over, but the excitement continues in the classrooms!

High School Puerto Rico Trip Recap

In January, the High School traveled to Puerto Rico, where students deepened their understanding of the island’s history, economy, and environment. The trip also provided the opportunity for students to experience what they had learned in the classroom in a real world setting, one where they also relied upon planning and interpersonal skills, practiced their Spanish, and enjoyed independence.

After their return, students captured memories and reflections by creating vlogs, blogs, and persuasive essays taking a position on Puerto Rico’s political future. Click here to read a sampling of works the students have chosen to share.

The Adolescent Community Presents: Newsies Jr.

It's time for the biannual AC musical, and this year we'll be putting on a production of Disney's Newsies Jr.! For the next few weeks leading up to the big shows, we will be having a musical intensive working to bring Newsies to life. The students are responsible for creating the set, picking out props and costumes, and publicizing the show, and we are singing and dancing as well! The newsies' story, set in New York City in 1899, perfectly captures our overarching theme this year: peace. Newsies is centered around newsboys and newsgirls trying to make a living selling newspapers, while the newspaper giants are hiking up the prices to buy the papers. The newsies must work together and compromise to make peace and give children working rights in the Big Apple. Buy your papers and join us on Friday, March 24 at 6:30 PM and Saturday, March 25 at 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM!
