The Greenwich Democratic Town Committee wishes you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year!

Greenwich Democrats get

to work in Hartford

FOR THE FIRST TIME, Greenwich is sending a majority of Democrats to represent us in the Connecticut Statehouse.

Steve Meskers, Rachel Khanna, and Hector Arzeno had historic wins this past November and were sworn in on

January 4 to begin their terms.

We are excited to hear from them as they work to support our great community and advocate for Greenwich residents, businesses, institutions, and organizations. We know they will contribute significantly to continuing the phenomenal upward trajectory of our State begun by Governor Lamont.

While Greenwich is already a great place to live and work, we now have in our newly elected representatives the best opportunity in generations to make it even better.

Your representatives are always happy to hear from you.

You can contact them at these emails:

Rachel Khanna (149th district): Rachel.Khanna@cga.ct.gov

Steve Meskers (150th district): Stephen.Meskers@cga.ct.gov

Hector Arzeno (151st district): hector.arzeno@cga.ct.gov

Stay in the loop on upcoming issues and events

We couldn't have done any of this without your dedicated support and active involvement. So we encourage you to keep it going. The Democratic Town Committee invites you to attend our meetings, which occur on the third Thursday of every month (except October – date TBA).

Our 2023 kickoff meeting is Thursday, January 19, at 7:30pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room and we hope you can attend. We promise you a warm welcome by a great group of people who love Greenwich – and Democratic ideas – as much as you do. We're optimistic and energized as we plan for the year ahead and we need your ideas and creativity to keep up our winning streak. We're just getting started. Be a part of it.

Help the Western Middle School field remediation project proceed

There are a number of important capital projects underway in Town. One of these is the remediation of contaminated soil in the athletic fields at Western Middle School (WMS), which have been closed for six years. The next step before work can begin is a public hearing, scheduled for January 11 at 6:00 p.m. at WMS.

It is critical to show there is strong support to get this field open and operational again for our students. The Board of Education encourages you to directly email the CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) your comments regarding the planned action to cap the field and why this project is important to our community. CT DEEP’s Remediation Project Manager Jeffrey Wilcox is expecting your email at jeff.wilcox@ct.gov.

We strongly encourage you to attend the public hearing, either in person or virtually, on Wednesday, January 11 with both CT DEEP and CT EPA to share your thoughts and ask questions.
