Annual 100 Miles of Hope Blood Drive Sept. 25-27 at Preston Center
The annual 100 Miles of Hope Blood Drive against MTSU returns Monday, Sept. 25, through Wednesday, Sept. 27, leading up to WKU Football's home game against Middle Tennessee.

Campus and community members can schedule appointments to donate in favor of WKU at the Preston Health and Activities Center. Appointments are available from 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. each day. Free parking spaces are available for community members scheduled to donate. Parking and donation details can be found online at www.wku.edu/blood-drive.

The winner of the 100 Miles of Hope Blood Drive will be announced on Sept. 28 at the WKU vs. MTSU football game at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The American Red Cross will present the trophy to the winning school.

Dear Colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the news that our Provost Emeritus, Cheryl Stevens, passed away this morning after a lengthy battle with cancer.

On behalf of the entire WKU family, I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.
17 Gatton seniors named National Merit Semifinalists
Seventeen seniors from The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky have been recognized as Semifinalists in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Spotlight: Lost River Sessions
Lost River Sessions Live! will present Hancock & Shouse with Logan Murrell at 7 p.m. September 21 at The Capitol, 416 E. Main St. Tickets are $15; WKU students admitted free with ID. The Emmy award-winning series is produced by WKU Public Media.
19 new members named Student Alumni Ambassadors
WKU’s Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) recently welcomed 19 new members out of an initial applicant pool of 164, bringing the membership total to 40 for fall 2023.
Folk Studies students share internship experiences
This past week, four students in the Folk Studies MA and Folklore Minor programs presented their reflections on their internship experiences in three different museums in Bowling Green and the surrounding region. Each described the skills they gained and the ways in which these experiences contributed to and even expanded their career goals and plans.
Nominations due October 4 for 2023-24 Faculty Awards
Nominations for WKU full-time and part-time faculty members are being accepted for the 2023-2024 college and university-wide Faculty Awards. The deadline for submitting nominations to the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is October 4.
WKU to host 4th annual financial planning symposium
Here's a reminder that the 4th Annual FPA MidSouth Financial Planning and Investments Symposium will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Knicely Conference Center. The event is hosted by WKU’s FPA Student Chapter and the Gordon Ford College of Business’s Department of Finance. 
Warren-Brooks Award winner to present lecture Friday
Here's a reminder that Dr. Tobias Menely, professor of English at UC Davis, will deliver the Warren-Brooks Lecture on Friday at WKU. The lecture, titled Creation Stories: Reproductive Crisis and the ‘Birth/Abortive’ of Science Fiction, will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Cherry Hall, room 125.
Supervisor Training Sessions
WKU’s Department of Human Resources announced supervisor training dates for the 2023 Fall Semester. The C.L.I.M.B. Higher: Equipping Supervisors for Success sessions aim to develop supervisor’s ability to Coach, Lead, Inspire, Manage, and Build teams. Two sessions will be offered: Session One, October 18 & 25, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Session Two, October 26 & November 2, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Apply by September 29.

Here's a reminder for WKU staff members: Monday is the deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 Staff Leadership Institute.
