The Husbands

Jerry Wolfe with our new foster dog Sadie. She is 12 years old and was surrendered to YTNR after she was diagnosed with diabetes and became aggressive with her owner giving her shots twice a day. She has a heart condition and cataracts so has trouble seeing things close up and will become blind.

She is a sweet girl though and we have figured out how to give her shots without getting bitten, but it still hakes both of us. She is settling into our pack and making herself at home. I am very grateful to Jerry for his patience and willingness to take her in and love her in and love her. I couldn't ask for a better husband!

In memory of Patricia Blackmon

Sadly we heard that Patricia had passed away December 23, 2022, she'd been in hospice for a few weeks and we were so very sad to hear of her passing.

"Tricia" had been with Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue for many many years and was an amazing advocate for not only our Yorkie's but almost any dog of any breed that found itself in need of help. I can tell you that she would drive miles out of her way to go pick up or deliver a dog if there was no one closer to help out.

She came to our Yorkie Balls here in Nashville and she would show up with her baby stroller full of all of her little charges, all dressed up in Ball gowns and tuxedo's to fit the occasion. She was the essence of Southern Sweetness and Charm. She helped right up to the last day of living in her home. She was an honorable and loyal friend. I will miss her.

Mary Elizabeth's Corner

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! We had a wonderful long Christmas visit with our kids and it was fun to have so many of them all home at the same time! The Southwest shutdown gave us five extra days with our daughter Deana who spent hours on hold trying to rebook her flight home. Danny and Kirsten were here for an entire week and that was wonderful.

A hew people have asked about Abby and her babies, unfortunately we lost Simba the little male puppy, there was just too much wrong with his prenatal care which included several rabies vaccinations. We spent over $3000 on Dolly the middle female and she is back at home. Claudio made her a little walker since she was having such a difficult time getting up, she too had a lot of neurological damage but hopefully will continue to improve. A special thanks to Mary and Claudio for their round the clock care for these little babies.

We are still looking for more volunteers all over the country so if you can help please go to our web page and fill out a volunteer form, we will contact you and help you get started.

The music industry lost one of my favorite song writers this week so I'm going to post one of his songs that I loved.

Happy Happy New Year and love from me....
