City of Sunrise Earth Day Festival

Free admission! Join us for live entertainment, great food and family-friendly activities – all in a beautiful outdoor setting. Event will start with a Tree-Planting Ceremony in commemoration of Arbor Day, followed by live musical performances. Other festival highlights include a Kids’ Corner with hands-on activities, arts and crafts, rides, and more!

Miami Riverday Festival

Celebrate the unique culture and natural environment of the historic Miami River with us at the 24th annual festival. The festival features free Miami River boat rides, environmental education, children activities, historic tours and reenactments, food, drinks and more. More info here

Baynanza County Clean-up

On Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day thousands of volunteers join together to help clean up our bay’s shoreline to protect our marine resources at 31 locations across the County

Earth Month 2023

  • Participate in Food Waste Prevention Week on April 10 -16th to raising public awareness and inspire a call to action to reduce food waste, protect the environment, and increase food security. Learn more here.
  • EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO), the global organizer of Earth Day and the largest recruiter of environmental movements worldwide, announced today the theme for Earth Day 2023 – “Invest in Our Planet.” Join the World's Largest Environmental movement!
  • DIG is hosting its Eco-Summit on Earth Day! Join us at the Frost Science Museum where students participating in the Green Schools Challenge will share their green initiatives/ideas by hosting a table and interacting with museum guests. Register your schools Now
Earth Day

Together with Lady Green Miami Recycling we present Earth Day Plastic Jug Recycling Contest to raise awareness in Miami on the importance of recycling!



All Miami-Dade County public, private and charter schools can register to participate. Schools must collect as many plastic jugs as possible during the duration of the contest and the winner will be announced on Earth day. Learn more here
