CoGat Testing - September 19 & 21 (Grade 6 Only)
Our 6th grade will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) on September 19 and 21.
This 2-part test is allotted 80 minutes for the first test session on September 19, and 70 minutes for the second test session on September 21. Three distinct sections make up the CogAT: Verbal Reasoning Battery, Quantitative Reasoning Battery, and a Non-Verbal Reasoning Battery. Results are expected in November.
Reports about your child's performance will be prepared and sent home once we receive them.
At home you can help prepare your child by ensuring they eat breakfast on the mornings of the tests. Most importantly, so that your child does not miss valuable class time, please make a special effort to have them here on the days of testing, arrive on time, and avoid appointments during the school day. The school is required to provide make-up tests to students that are absent during testing. Make-up tests do require the child to be out of the classroom for extended periods of time on an alternate day.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the CogAT test please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Drew Renner, Assistant Principal of Indian Hill Middle School.
