Each November, Native American Heritage Month aims to provide a platform for Native people in the United States to share their culture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and ways and concepts of life.

National Native American Heritage Month - Understanding the History and Why it Matters


No matter how hard of a truth it may be to bear for some, Native American History is a part of American history, and it deserves to be heard with full disclosure and honesty. 33 years ago, former President George H.W. Bush declared November as National Native American Heritage Month, a month where we highlight and uplift Native voices to have the platform to share their history, culture, and traditions, on their terms, and honor their stories by doing away with the filtered versions that are so often told by voices that aren’t their own.


So, bearing this in mind, the question isn’t ‘why does it matter’ but rather, why wouldn’t it?

Now Showing in the Coastline Art Gallery: Eight Directions


The Coastline College Art Gallery has been proud to present Eight Directions, an exhibition that celebrates the diverse pathways artists take to express their unique creative visions.


This showcase highlights a wide range of styles, techniques, and perspectives, offering visitors a journey through the many ways contemporary artists bring their ideas to life.


As the exhibition comes to a close this week, make sure to stop by the gallery (located at Coastline's Newport Beach Campus) and check it out. Also don't miss the next installment of the Wednesday Gallery Walk Through & Podcast series this upcoming Wednesday, November 20th.

Earning your AA/AS degree (60+ units) in May 2025 with your education plan focus on UC/IGETC transfer? Apply now for transfer to the University of California for Fall 2025. The UC application is comprehensive, and help is available by attending a live virtual workshop session on page-by-page review, draft and review personal insight questions (PIQs-4 questions), how to address co-curricular activities, showcase your academic recognition, time for Q&A, and submit your UC application on or before the November 30th deadline!

Transgender Day of Remembrance

Honoring the lives of those who were taken from us far too soon due to violence against the transgender community. After taking a moment of silence for the community, folks will have the chance to write notes of hope and encouragement to incarcerated trans people.

UndocuStories Info Session: Learn About the Undocumented and Mixed Legal Status Student Experience/Undocu-Community Experience

Explore the diverse experiences of our students with undocumented and mixed legal statuses through our UndocuStories interactive Info Session event. In a gallery-style setting, you'll encounter powerful student/community stories representing a range of identities and experiences within the undocumented community, including Undocu-Queer, UndocuAPI, UndocuBlack, Deported Veterans, Undocu-Foster, DACA recipients, and more. Some stories will remain anonymous, while others will include photos or will be shared in person. Join us in fostering understanding, support, and inclusion on our campus and in empowering our students.
