Prom

We are excited to announce that this years Prom will be held on April 22nd and will be held at The Grange Clubhouse right here in The Meadows. We have also partnered with The MAC to hold a Prom After Party. We would like to involve as many parents as possible in these events. We are looking for chaperones, set-up, clean-up, food and supplies, decorations, decorators, photo booths, games, etc. Parents, if you have a business that fits in one of these categories, have any ideas, or would like to volunteer in any way, please let me know at mike.mcclintock@coloradoearlycolleges.org

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up in May! The CEC marketing team would like to put together a video of what our parents, students, and teachers appreciate about CEC teachers. Even teachers can appreciate their fellow teachers! We are asking for video submissions of you saying what you appreciate about teachers. We are combining your clips into one video, so please keep it brief at 10-20 seconds max. Please send your submissions to marketing@coloradoearlycolleges.org with the subject line “Teach Week.” In emailing us a video submission, you are giving CEC permission to use it on their website and/or social media. The submission deadline is April 7.

Valedictorian & Salutatorian

Colorado Early Colleges- Castle Rock is pleased to announce that Aubrey Heldt has been named Valedictorian and Trevor Keeney has been named Salutatorian of the Class of 2023.


Aubrey and Trevor have both worked hard to achieve this honor and have been exemplary students throughout their high school careers. Both Aubrey and Trevor have achieved top grades in an array of classes.


We know that our Valedictorian and Salutatorian will no doubt continue to excel in their future endeavors, and we are proud to recognize them for their hard work and dedication. Please join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments.

Model United Nations Team

Looking for a fun high school experience where you will meet great friends, learn important skills, and enhance your college application?! Look no further! We are assembling our first Model United Nations (Model UN) team in the fall of 2023! Students will be introduced to the role of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision-making in their preparation for their role as country ambassador for each Model UN competition that we enter.

 

If you are interested in current events, politics, law, debate, or enhancing your communication skills, please join us on Wednesday, March 29th from 3:20pm-3:45pm in Room 221. Ms. Gibson and student, Kylah Dierks, will host a meeting to explain how Model UN works. If you have any questions, please feel free to message Genevieve Gibson or Kylah Dierks.

Opportunity Expo

We are in need of business professionals in our CEC community to represent their career/business at our CEC Castle Rock Opportunity Expo on Thursday, April 27 at CEC Castle Rock. We would like to invite parents/guardians to participate if they are interested. Student Pick up and Drop Off

For the safety and security of student’s, we would like to remind our community that students should not be dropped off prior to 7:30am and must be picked up prior to 4:00pm, as we offer no assurances that your child will be supervised outside of these times. More information on this can be found on page 22 of the Student and Family Handbook and reads:

 

For safety, students are to be dropped off and picked up in the designated area before and after school. Students should not arrive prior to 7:30 a.m. and should be picked up before 4:00 p.m. as CECCR offers no assurances that your student will be supervised outside of these times. Please make arrangements with your student regarding transportation or designate an alternative location for your student to wait should they be dropped off or picked up outside of the times. In an emergency which will result in a late pick-up, please call the school office, 720.439.4300.

Student Council

Spring 2023 Semester

Meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 3:20pm in Room 116. Members must keep at least 50% attendance in general meetings to remain on the council, and are also expected to participate in activities and committees.

Busing Update

Please email Transportation @ transportation@coloradoearlycolleges.org if their student is no longer riding the bus this semester. In the next couple of weeks we will be removing riders who are not riding for 3 or more days. Thank you!

  • Colorado Crisis Services Line, 1-844-493-TALK (8255): This 24/7 toll-free hotline is available 365 days a year for anyone affected by a mental health, substance use or emotional crisis. All calls are connected to a mental health professional that will provide immediate support and connections to further resources. 
  • Crisis Text Service: Anyone can text the word TALK to 38255 anytime, from anywhere in Colorado about any type of crisis. This feature is available 24/7. Visit Home - Colorado Crisis Services for more information. 
  • Colorado Crisis Walk-In Locations: Walk-in crisis service locations are open 24/7 and offer confidential, in-person crisis support, information and referrals to anyone who needs it. Walk-in locations can be found on the Colorado Crisis Services website at ColoradoCrisisServices.org
  • Crisis Chat Service: On ColoradoCrisisServices.org, individuals can chat with specialists for online emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide assessments. This feature is available from 4 p.m. to midnight, seven days a week. 
  • Safe2Tell: Call 877-542-7233, text S2T to 274637, download Safe2Tell app, or visit S2T CO | Make a Call. Make a Difference (safe2tell.org) 
  • (National) Suicide/Crisis Lifeline: 800-273-8255 

 

Free Mental Health Support 

 

  • I Matter Campaign offers three free mental health sessions to children in Colorado. Anyone between 12 and 18 can go to the I Matter state website to take a short survey to assess their needs. If the results show they need help, the site will connect them to a provider for a 45-minute appointment in the next two weeks. 
  • Spark the Change is a FREE resource that connects licensed, volunteer clinicians to students and communities in need of mental health response. Referees can get up to 10 sessions for free, as well as pertinent resources. 
  • Second Wind Fund is a FREE resource that connects licensed, volunteer clinicians to students at risk for suicide and in need of mental health response. Referees can get up to 12 sessions for free in person or through telehealth, as well as pertinent resources. 
  • Mental Health Colorado offers FREE screening tools in English and Spanish for people concerned that the mental health symptoms they are experiencing may be impacting their wellbeing.

Shadow Day Student Volunteers

We are planning to host Shadow Days in the Spring semester! Shadow Days are days when future students come to campus and are assigned a current student host. The host will give the future student a tour, answer questions, and have them attend their classes and lunch with them. We are looking for students that are kind, welcoming, and passing their classes.
