LORD'S ACRE

Lord's Acre is fast approaching, and the Country Kitchen offers an excellent opportunity to participate. Please pull out your favorite recipes, and think about what delicious treats you can offer our shoppers this year. Cookies, pies, breads, cakes, and cupcakes are always popular! We also need volunteers to prepare ready-to-bake frozen casseroles. Casserole pans and labels will be available for pick-up. Please contact Lynne McCartney at mccartney3aledo@yahoo.com with any questions. A sign--up sheet is in the Narthex. Thank you in advance for baking AND shopping at the Lord's Acre Country Kitchen!


We are still accepting donations of

  • snack-size packages of chips to serve with lunches
  • snacks for volunteers and vendors (protein bars, peanut butter crackers, pretzels, granola/fruit bars, etc.)
  • cans of soda, bottles of water and sports drinks, and juice boxes

All donations may be placed in the marked bin in the Narthex.


Donation forms for silent and live auction items are available in the Narthex, and Vendor applications are on the chuch website. All forms may be tuned in at the Connection Center or in the Lord's Acre mail box.

ALEDO ISD NEW TEACHERS TAILGATE - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Friday, September 8, 4pm,Daniel Ninth Grade Center cafeteria


Join us for this fun opportunity to serve and build relationships in our community! Next weekend we will be helping to host a "New Teachers" tailgate before the Aledo HS football game. The event will be INSIDE at the Daniel Ninth Grade Center cafeteria. The school district will provide the grill, food, paper goods, and decorations. AUMC volunteers will decorate, set-up, cook, serve, and offer a warm and friendly greeting to the teachers! Please arrive at 4pm to help set up; the event begins at 5:30pm. FAITH 'N MOTION FITNESS

Faith 'N Motion is a Christian-inspired fitness class for adults that meets every Wednesday at 6pm, upstairs in the Education Building. Bring water and your exercise mat, and come check it out! DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY

Begins September 7, 6:30-8pm, MAC


Want to get to know your Bible? Join us for this comprehensive group study, led by Fanci Coyle and Trudy Smith. We will spend 12 weeks in the Old Testament, then 12 weeks in the New Testament. Register at the Connection Center or email Trudy with any questions. Orientation session is September 7; class begins September 14.

MIRACLE LEAGUE OF PARKER COUNTY

FELLOWSHIP OF MEN

Sunday, September 24, 4-6pm, MAC


Join us for this fun opportunity to learn from a great artist! Jim Stavens, Master Woodcarver, will conduct a Woodcarver 101 class on September 24th at 4pm. This is an Intro level class; it is open to all, but recommended for teenagers and older. Carving materials will be provided. Please bring a sharp whittling knife and cut-proof gloves. ADULT MISSION TRIP

October 22-26, Conroe, TX


Each year there are about 100 natural disasters in the US, including wildfires, floods, droughts, tornadoes, hurricanes, and more. The Mission Center in Conroe responds to these natural disasters with pre-assembled kits that serve immediate needs. They include flood buckets, hygiene kits, and adult and child backpacks.


If you would like to be part of this critical mission, please join us for four days in Conroe.


  • October 22-26
  • no trip fee; individual expenses are hotels and meals
  • sign up in the Narthex; deadline is October 1 or when filled


Can't go this time? You can support the mission team by donating supplies for the emergency kits. Needs include the following:


  • New, unwashed bath towels
  • Adult and child toothbrushes in original packaging
  • New, 24-count boxes of crayons
  • Single-subject spiral notebooks, wide or college rules
  • 20-60 count packages of hand wipes


Items may be left in a marked bin in the Narthex. Thank you!!

Drop off the kiddos at school and join us every Thursday for Java & Jesus, a time to meet with other moms and share life! We seek to grow in our faith through fellowship, a shared devotion, and a good cup of coffee! MEN'S DEVOTIONAL BREAKFAST

Pastor Joel will be sharing a short devotional with this group. Burritos and coffee will be served. This is an opportunity to meet new people and decompress. The goal is for those not retired, to get back on the road by 8:15, at the latest. A donation of $5 is asked to cover the cost.

  • Caring Hearts/Stephen Ministers - offer compassionate and confidential prayer, support, and encouragement
