Founders' Day Inductee: Dottie Lirette
We wrapped up the weekend and celebrated with a Founders' Day Assembly honoring this year's inductee Dottie Lirette, a longtime former art faculty member of CSS, at the Founders' Day Celebration on Monday, Sept. 30, in the Louisa Performing Arts Center (LPAC). Dottie, fondly known as "the Queen of the Carriage House," a retrospective of her artwork through the years in the lobby of LPAC presented during Alumni Reunion Weekend (on display through mid-October in LPAC). Dottie's full speech is on the Blog Post (link above). She expresses the impact of being an educator at CSS in the 1970s and the founding principles of Margaret Campbell, our founding headmistress. Thank you, Dottie! Photo credit: Dottie Lirette, "Alpen Glow" Oil Painting
Our Alumni Reunion and Homecoming Weekend were equally memorable. It was heartwarming to see graduates from across the decades return to campus, reconnecting with old friends and forging new connections with current students.
As we move forward into the rest of the academic year, let's carry with us the enthusiasm and unity we experienced during these special days. Our school thrives because of the dedication and passion of every member of our community – students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni alike.
Community of Belonging Committee
In an effort to keep the momentum going throughout the year, our newly formed Community of Belonging Committee aims to ensure that past, current, and prospective students, families, faculty, and staff feel welcome on our campus. Learn more about their efforts and how you can help, click here:
