Dear Residents –
Last Sunday, my former Deputy Town Supervisor, Mike Lawler, was sworn in to the U.S. House of Representatives for New York’s 17th district at a ceremonial inauguration at the Fire Training Center. I wish Congressman Lawler much success as he prepares to take on the responsibilities and challenges of his new office and know that he will never forget that he started in Orangetown.
The Town will be launching a new community solar program by the end of this month. The Town partnered with Solar Simplified to be able to offer this savings program and promote clean energy without installing solar panels on your property. I will be mailing out a letter to all residents, so please check your mailbox. The program is an opt-in only program, so please, read the letter and follow the directions. To find out now what the program entails, please click here.
In the next few weeks, the Town will be looking for your thoughts and ideas about a farmers market in downtown Pearl River. The survey will be available via the Town’s Facebook page and Town website, and we will be sending e-mails out to everyone on our mailing list. I am excited to hear what you all have to say about it and to make it a huge success.
Looks like most of the weekend will be dry - get out and enjoy our spring-like weather in January! Hit the rail trail, take a walk on the pier or head over to Veterans Memorial Park and play on the swings with the kids.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Regards,
