President's Message

Dear WTS Members,

As chapter members gathered for our annual holiday luncheon and meeting earlier this month, it was a joy to celebrate a successful year together and reflect on our achievements.

Just a few highlights that were celebrated in 2024:

  • $27,500 in scholarships awarded to 11 recipients
  • 10% increase in membership and corporate partners, a testament to the growing strength of our organization.
  • Hosted over 30 programs and events, providing invaluable networking opportunities, education on the transportation industry, and support for career and leadership development.
  • The University of Texas at Arlington student chapter has grown to an impressive 185 members, showcasing the bright future of our industry.
  • Hosted sold out events for both the annual Scholarship & Awards Banquet and Golf Tournamentour biggest fundraisers!

On the heels of these accomplishments, it is the perfect time to recognize the leaders who have helped achieve our chapter’s accomplishments. I encourage you to participate in the WTS Greater D/FW Chapter Annual Awards Nominations. More information on the awards and how to apply can be found in this newsletter. Also, there are only a few days left to submit for the scholarship applications. This year we are awarding more than $30,000 in scholarships, so don’t miss the deadline on Friday, December 27. Detailed information about requirements and how to apply is available in this newsletter.

Looking ahead to 2025, it's not too early to let you know that the 2025 Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet is scheduled for April 11, 2025. Look for sponsorship information to come out early next year to help us celebrate our next group of scholarship recipients and award winners.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to our chapter board members, committee chairs and members, chapter members, and advisory board for all of your hard work to make this year such a memorable one. I also want to extend a huge thank you to our corporate sponsors and member employers for your support. None of the great things we do would be possible without everyone's collective support and participation.

As we close out the year, I wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season, and I look forward to achieving even more together in 2025!
