CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH!
From Visit Rochester: Rochester, NY, and the Finger Lakes region are the birthplace of the modern women’s rights movement. The importance of this is felt each Election Day as hundreds of voters line the paths at Mount Hope Cemetery to visit Susan B. Anthony’s grave and to place their “I Voted” stickers on her gravestone as a tribute and thank you. Rochester has many opportunities to pay homage to influential Rochester women, both past and present.

Explore the "Women's History in Rochester," webpage for more information and historic places and resources in our area.
In addition, the Rochester Museum & Science Center invites the community to celebrate and honor the cultural and scientific contributions of women in history each Saturday in March with events focusing on local and historical women from its recent Changemakers exhibit.

GRANTEE SPOTLIGHT
Our March Spotlight Shines on WellVentions Job Ready and Career Exposure Program

Thank you to Jill Stolt and Dr. Terence Gipson for visiting our office to share the great work being done by WellVentions!

WellVentions, a job ready training and career exposure program, is administered by ProsperRochester, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit social enterprise organization.

Over the past 10 years, WellVentions has guided aspiring Rochester youth to develop products and manage the business at the Rochester Public Market. This “Mini Me Mart” serves as a vital career training ground as student-employees test, market, and ultimately complete sales to support the mission. During this process, they develop the “social/emotional” and business skills needed to become valued employees in the workforce and contributing citizens in their community.

To date, over $125,000 in products have been sold; from pasta, sauce, smoothie, mask, and puppet sales. Profits have been reinvested in training, student stipends, and new product development."
