A Message from the Lead Team | |
Here at St. John’s, we value how education in the Fine Arts helps to develop well-rounded individuals. Our teachers post student artwork on a website called Artsonia for you to view and share with extended family. You can encourage your child by posting comments on their artwork. Our goal is to update the student artwork we currently have framed and displayed around the school building through a gift from Artsonia. We will keep you posted on our progress toward our goal.
We are the Eagles!

7th Grade Eagles in Action October 2024
The seventh grade kicked off their Eagles in Action month by leading the school in chapel last Wednesday. Later this month, we will be helping the organization Operation Support Our Troop by filling stockings with goodies for our servicemen and women. Our kids sewing club, So Kids, Sew has been making some of these stockings after school on Monday afternoons. The 7th grade class will be collecting specific goodies for these care packages, along with making Christmas ornaments. Monetary donations collected during chapel will go to offset the shipping costs of the very generous care packages as they are shipped around the world!

2nd and 3rd Grade Eagles in Action Recap for September 2024
Thank you for your support of the LaGrange Area Food Pantry through your chapel offerings in September. We also collected donations at our church’s Coffee Hour on September 22 and 29, and the 4th and 5th grades generously donated their profits from Mrs. Wykert’s Mall (an amazing $403.33) from a free enterprise/entrepreneur project they did for Social Studies. We are excited that the offerings totaled almost $1,000! If we divide that by ten months, we will use $100.00 each month this school year to buy our monthly featured non-food item, AND shop for food sales. Your generosity is gratefully appreciated! Thank you for helping us serve those in our community who have a need.

Prayer Vigil
Tuesday, October 8th
We are so glad to have you and your children coming to St. John's. We ask you to please take time to pray for this church and school at our Prayer Vigil on Tuesday, October 8. We pray together to unify us in God's Will, to seek His Ways and continue on His Path. In Ephesians 6:18 it says “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
The Church will open at 7:30am so you can come right after dropping off your children. We will have coffee and treats available for you to enjoy! The students will attend the prayer vigil with their classes. We all need to be united in lifting our hearts to the Lord. Thank you in advance for your participation!
Any questions, please ask Mrs. Wykert: v.wykert@stjohnslagrange.org

Caring Network is here to care for women facing unexpected pregnancies, to restore those who’ve already been hurt by abortion – and to mobilize God’s people for the work of life. For them, that work began in 1981 with a volunteer-staffed call center housed in a mechanic’s garage. Women in crisis called – and Caring Network answered. Over the past four decades, they have expanded services to include seven women’s centers in DuPage and Will Counties, a post-abortion healing ministry, and online telecare women in crisis can access from anywhere. Our current goal is to see 25 communities plant their own independent Caring Network clinics throughout Illinois.
The need is great. By God’s grace and your help, we can respond in love.
This weekend our church will kick off the Diaper Derby for families served by Caring Network. As a church, we will be collecting diapers, especially sizes newborn, 5, 6 & 7, pull-ups and wipes. Please bring in supplies by October 27th and leave them in a box wrapped in "baby colors" in the Narthex. Supplies benefit Caring Network’s baby bank programs, providing material goods, parenting classes, and spiritual support to new parents in need.
