8th GRADE FORTNIGHTLY DANCES - The Tradition Continues at SFX!
For families with younger children who may not be familiar with the tradition of 8th Grade Fortnightly Dances at SFX, it is a decades long tradition at St. Francis Xavier and other schools in the Western suburbs. The goal of Fortnightly is to use dance to help participants feel comfortable and confident as they get ready to begin high school. 8th grade participants show growth in social awareness, self-confidence, self-esteem, teamwork and consideration and kindness of others during the sessions. As a reminder for 8th grade parents, the calendar is as follows:
1/22 Ballroom Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
1/29 Ballroom Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
2/5 Latin Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
2/12 Disco Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
2/26 Country Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
3/12 50's Style Dance 6:30pm - 8pm
3/19 Last Class 6:30pm - 8pm - Parents welcome to attend the last 30 minutes of class.
