Updates to FERPA Manager Viewer Access Requests

University staff, including student employees, may request “viewer access” in FERPA Manager (formerly the "FERPA Designee Pin Page" or "FDPP"). This system houses designee pin codes and lists whether a student has provided their consent for your office or department to communicate with a designee.

Learn more about how students provide UConn consent to share their records.

To request viewer access on behalf of yourself, a colleague, or a student employee, you can now submit an online FERPA Manager Viewer Request Form.*

Student employees will be given a maximum one-year viewer access period unless a shorter period is requested.

* Staff with existing FERPA Manager viewer access do not need to submit a new request.

A word from our friends in ITS

Departments should request student NetIDwork accounts whenever a student employee needs access to a system, service, or departmental email, rather than using their student NetID to access those services. These student NetIDwork accounts are sponsored by their supervisor and can be requested via the NetID Management webpage.

FERPA Training for Everyone

UConn staff, (including student employees) who are granted viewer access in FERPA Manager must complete FERPA Training for Everyone, available on HuskyCT, within 30 days. The training can be found under ‘Self Enroll Courses and Organizations’ at the bottom of the homepage.
