Republic Services will be rolling out (pun intended) new trash carts in early December. These carts will be provided to every hand-collect residential and commercial customer. These new carts will be required for all customers and will replace existing carts used by some customers.
As you know, there were 23 Propositions that we put on the ballot in November. All but one passed. We had 21 successful amendments to the City Charter and the passage of the Venue Tax. The Venue Tax will add 2% or roughly $2 to every hotel night stay in Jacksonville. The funds raised will go towards remodel and operations of the new Civic Center. You will hear more about the renovations in the coming months. We hope to complete the renovations by the Summer season.
