Peter Paul News - September 2023

Off to a Great Start

On September 8th, the community came together for music, games, and food at Peter Paul's Community Block Party. It was a fantastic start to the school year, and perfect timing with our new Chief Executive Officer’s first week!

Lewis Ginter was in attendance. The Children's Museum of Richmond, handed out free books. RVA Community Fridges provided resources on food insecurity, and the City of Richmond provided a free snow cone truck! We want to thank ALL our community partners and volunteers who made this event happen, with a special thank you to Anthem HealthKeepers Plus for sponsoring the event.

We hope everyone enjoyed their time with us, and we look forward to seeing you at more Peter Paul community events.

So who exactly is this new CEO of Peter Paul? Corey is a Los Angeles native who found his way to Richmond after an unexpected career in education and leadership. Check out the latest episode of Voices of Peter Paul, and learn more about Corey and his vision for the future. Click Here.

After School Academy

Our After School Academy began on September 6th and is in full swing! We are already at capacity for the year and have a robust waitlist of students that we will move into the program as space becomes available. There is a full calendar of programs ahead, including lots of fun collaborations with our community partners. Stay tuned for more information and updates on the success of our students!

Partner Spotlight: The Mission Continues

In honor of 9/11, The Mission Continues volunteered with Peter Paul to make more improvements to our facility. They did an excellent job of building new garden beds, picking up trash, weeding, stapling up the netting where the children do Garden Club, and even did some snake prevention! Thank you so much for your service!
