Board Clerk Yip-Chuan named Ambassador of Year by Chamber of Commerce

Milpitas Unified School District's Board Clerk Kelly Yip-Chuan was recognized by her board colleagues and district leadership after receiving Milpitas Chamber of Commerce's Ambassador of the Year award.

Junior Olympians Jayceon Carswell, Guglielmelli boys Ayden, Brayden and Caleb

MUSD student-athletes Jayceon Carswell, Ayden Guglielmelli, Brayden Guglielmelli and Caleb Guglielmelli were honored by the MUSD Board of Education and District leadership for representing Milpitas Unified School District and their achievements in this past summer's Junior Olympics. Carswell won a silver medal in the long jump while Guglielmellis were among nation's best runners.

Randall students for Maui relief fundraising

Randall World Languages School students third graders Catherine Haughey and Livia Anna Devine, as well as fourth graders Hazel Devine and Anjali Pulavarthi, for their fundraising efforts for Maui relief. The two third graders sold homemade bracelets while the two fourth graders sold books to raise funds.

Confucius committee joins MUSD board in honoring Chinese philosopher

Representatives for the Committee for the 42nd Annual Confucius Memorial Ceremony joined our MUSD leaders at our Sept. 26 meeting in adopting Resolution 2024.10 Honoring the 2,573rd Anniversary of the Birth of Confucius, which recognizes Confucius' invaluable contributions to philosophy, social and political thought.

Los Dichos parents of Randall World Languages School for volunteerism

The Los Dichos parents of Randall World Languages School were honored for their volunteer service and support of our MUSD students and learners. LosDichos is a program that allows parents to be reading volunteers in the classroom. Every month our parent volunteers and the coordinator, Raquel Villalobos, meet and organize the activities for the book of the month. Along with reading to classes, these amazing volunteers plan and do crafts activities that go with the books as well as analyze and talk about the message or teaching that the book is giving.

Highlights

Showing Up Matters! attendance campaign makes impact among community

Working to improve upon a 95% average daily attendance for the 22-23 school year, the district and school sites have collaborated to engage, inform, and support our students and families around positive attendance. Studies indicate that when students are present, they increase their opportunities for learning and growing individually and as a citizen of their school community. As a district, MUSD is committed to reaching a 97% average daily attendance for the 23-24 school year. MUSD shares Parcel Tax Oversight Committee members

The purpose of the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee (PTOC) is to provide oversight and accountability on the expenditures funded by Measure E to ensure that said funds are spent for the purposes approved by the voters.


Those serving are:

  • Nameeta Easrani - member who is a representative of the community.
  • William Lam - member who is a parent or guardian of child(ren) enrolled in the District.
  • Doug Sueoka - member who is a representative of the community.
  • Adrienne Taylor - member who is a parent or guardian of child(ren) enrolled in the District.
  • Tom Valore - member who is active in a senior citizens' organization.
  • Yen Wolf - member who is a representative of the community.


Human Relations team shares latest hiring update

MUSD's Human Relations team provided a report on the number of recent classified, certificated, and management hires for the current yearwith data comparisons from the previous years to observe trends and relate opportunities for celebration and opportunity.

Rancho Principal's Report highlights school culture

New Rancho Milpitas Middle School Admin Team of Principal Vern Caruz and Assistant Principal Amanda Gross shared a video presentation showing how they are building the school climate and culture.
