Lent III

Preacher: Rev. Jeff Day

Liturgist: Barb Pfeifer

Usher: Sherry Hutchinson

Pianist: Scarlett Ellender

Lent often has a waiting tone. We wait for Resurrection Sunday. We wait for Christ's return, wait for God to set things right. And we do so with hope and patience.

This week as we wait, reflect upon Psalm 130:5-6. "I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word, I put my hope, I wait for the Lord more than watchmen waiting for the morning.

If you would like to participate with Highland Presbyterian Church remotely, we will stream this Sunday's service (9:30 a.m.) on our facebook page,

In Examen: Inward work for outward living, Teri McDowell Ott explores the ancient spiritual practice of examen that focuses on honest assessment and reflection. With a different theme for each week of Lent, readers are invited to explore the connection between internal contemplation and outward action. Themes include examining our fear to live with faith, examining our pain to live with healing, examining our dishonesty to live with truth, examining our joy to live with gratitude, examining our love to live with heart and examining our burdens to live with blessing.
