Refund Request Deadline

The last day to submit a refund request to the Business Services Office for tuition or fees is Thursday, December 19

Note: Money in a student’s eServices account is not automatically refunded to them. If you have a credit balance in your eServices account and do not request a refund by the last day of instruction of the semester, then you forfeit that money.

Please visit ARC’s Refunds webpage for more information.

Textbook Rental Returns and Buyback

Textbook rentals are due back to the store by the last day of finals, Thursday, December 19, 2024. Check out the Los Rios Bookstore webpage for hours and information specific to your college.

While book buybacks are an ongoing service, Finals Week is the best time to fetch the best returns for your books. Please note, a valid Student W-ID number is necessary for selling back textbooks. Seize the opportunity and let your textbooks find new life while you put some extra money in your pocket!

Save the Date: Scholarship Season is Coming

Did you know that thanks to generous donors, the Los Rios Colleges Foundation awards nearly $500,000 in scholarships to students each year? The application period for students to apply will be Friday, January 17, through Friday, March 7, 2025. Learn more on the Apply for Foundation Scholarships webpage.

Giving Thanks for Giving Tuesday

Nearly $17,000 was raised for Los Rios students during Giving Tuesday this year! Thanks to generous donations from across the district, the Los Rios Colleges Foundation raised an incredible $16,777.27, far surpassing our goal of $10,000. These funds mean that many of our most vulnerable students will have the support they need this holiday season through Los Rios Cares

Under the Cares programs at the colleges, students have access to services such as the Emergency Hotel Program, the Student Emergency Fund, textbook scholarships, our food pantries and so much more. Thank you to those who donated for making the season brighter for our students.

ARC Sustainability Spotlight: Ensuring Safe and Accessible Water on Campus

This fall, students from the Natural Resources Principles of Sustainability class took on an important group project: assessing water quality from dispensers and fountains across the ARC campus. Their goal was to raise awareness of dispenser locations and provide updated information about water quality, encouraging more students and staff to use this sustainable resource.

Through surveys, the group found that while many people use campus dispensers daily, others often purchase plastic water bottles from $1.75 to $3.75. By highlighting the safety and accessibility of campus water, the project aims to shift more people toward this free, eco-friendly option.

Testing conducted on water samples across campus—including a

16-parameter test and bacterial screening—found no contamination, confirming that ARC’s water is safe to drink. This data provides peace of mind and supports the case for using campus water dispensers as a convenient and sustainable resource.

Stay hydrated and help reduce waste—our campus water is clean, safe, and ready for you!
