Giving Kids the Advantage

Consider Helping Us Stock up on

New Books for Our October Giveaway

Please Help!

Twice each year, we fill every space of our office with books and open our doors to hundreds of local students to come in and find all the books that interest them. While most of the books are used, we try to give each child 2 brand new books as well. We have had large-scale donations in the past, but we are in desperate need of some new books to fill our shelves for our upcoming Book Giveaway on October 25. PLEASE, consider purchasing a book (or three) for a local child. Take a look at our Amazon WishList, or stop by a local Bookstore and grab something you think a child would love. We are most in need of early chapter books, graphic novels, and baby books. THANK YOU!

We would also love donations of gently used children’s books any time throughout the year. If you happen to be cleaning off shelves, or finding used book bargains around town, we can always use them!

Thank you for considering a gift to 15-LOVE! 15-LOVE (Capital Region Youth Tennis Foundation, Inc) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. All purchases made from this list for the organization are tax deductible to the extent permissible by law.

15- LOVE Kids Go to the US OPEN

15-LOVE kids had the opportunity to participate in the Net Generation on-court experience before a men's singles match at the 2023 US Open on August 29 in Flushing, NY.

This fun initiative gives players and coaches from different clubs and programs the opportunity to show off their skills and demonstrate their progress on the same courts used by the professional players just before they arrive.

15-LOVE participants had an incredible time. Thank you the United States Tennis Association (USTA), USTA Foundation, USTA Eastern and Net Generation for this awesome experience. Our kids were so happy!

15-LOVE participants, volunteers and their and families volunteered to help clean up around the tennis courts at Westland Hills Park in Albany, and Michigan Ave Park in Schenectady on September 9 as part of Jersey Mike's Weekend of Giving (September 9 & 10).

"Thank you to everyone who came out and to help take care of our tennis courts," said 15-LOVE Execuctive Director Amber Marino. “Your hard work paid off – the courts and surrounding areas look great! Also a huge shout out to the USTA Foundation for their continued support and Jersey Mike’s for their generosity! We are humbled!"

Every sub that was purchased at Jersey Mike’s over that entire weekend (the weekend of the US Open Finals) helped the USTA Foundation empower youth through sports and education – including our own right here in the Capital Region!

Jersey Mike’s donated 20 percent of sales over Finals weekend at the company’s more than 2,500 locations nationwide to the USTA Foundation.

Mission Goals at Community Events

September was a busy month for community outreach for 15-LOVE program directors and staff. They attended several community events to help share our mission with children, parents and guardians.

"Attending these events are a great way to introduce tennis and our educational programs to our community", said 15-LOVE Executive Director Amber Marino. "We appreciate the opportunity to share our mission with so many, and when we see them get excited about participating, it reinforces that we are at the right place at the right time."

Events included: Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology Open House, Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady - Back to Love Bash and ROOTS Academy Back to School Night.
