Lyons Township High School Class of 2027 Parents/Guardians,

Happy New Year! We are just over one week away from the first of two January transition events for the Class of 2027 students and families.  The Class of 2027 Registration Virtual Webinar will be held at 7:00pm on January 18 and Future Freshman Night will be held at Lyons Township High School South Campus on January 25 at 6:30pm. Details about both events are included within this communication. We look forward to spending time with Class of 2027 students and families as you prepare to register for courses for 2023-24 school year.

Details: The Class of 2027 Registration Virtual Webinar will include important information on the following:
  • Preparing for course selection including important considerations for students and families
  • Reviewing course placements and utilizing the APG, Course Selection Worksheet, and Elective Form
  • We will highlight what your student can expect during their course selection meeting with an LT Counselor
  • Previewing the next steps in the transition process
  • January 25th Future Freshman Night 
  • Spring Online Registration Process (OLR, Birth Certificate, Health Forms, and Residency Verification)
  • Information on academic summer school and summer activities

The Webinar will be recorded and posted on our website for those who are unable to view it live. 

Class of 2027 Future Freshman Night (Academic Focus) at 6:30pm

When: Wednesday, January 25 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Where: Lyons Township High School South Campus 
Entry: Doors will open for family entry at 6:00pm. Families can enter at the following entrances: Main Entrance (Door 1), Bus Entrance (Door 25), Pool Entrance, and Fieldhouse Entrance (maps will be available at all entrances)

Future Freshman Night Event Details:  
  • The night will begin with a welcome presentation in the Fieldhouse at 6:30pm. Families should plan to attend the 6:30pm welcome presentation in which members of the Lyons Township High School Administrative Team will revisit the importance of course selection as well as preview the schedule for the evening and options that students/families have for learning more about academic programming at LTHS
  • After the welcome presentation, we encourage all families to take some time to attend the elective showcase as well as attend presentation(s) that will help your family prepare for registration
  • Families are invited to visit the elective fair in the Fieldhouse during any portion of the evening
  • Families will have the option of attending the following presentations during the evening: Core Class Presentation, First Time LT Families, Registration Questions, Special Education Presentation, and Advanced Placement Panel Discussion  
  • The schedule for presentations will be sent to families and be posted on the Class of 2027 website in advance of Future Freshman Night. Details regarding all presentations will be shared within the communication that precedes Future Freshman Night. Building maps and the schedule for Future Freshman Night Schedule will also be available at all entrances on January 25.

Additionally, LTHS Parent Teacher Council (PTC) will be located in the Fieldhouse lobby and will be available to share details about getting involved with the PTC and membership. 

Class of 2027 Future Freshman Night event schedule/details, breakout presentation information, and elective fair map will be posted to the Class of 2027 website prior to the event on January 25.
