2023 Excellence Awards



Four staff members at Gardant-managed communities were honored earlier this month with Illinois Health Care Association 2023 Excellence Awards.

 

Mike Stickler of Grand Prairie of Macomb was named the Food Service/Dietary Professional of the Year.

 

Sarah Roland Lucchesi of Heritage Woods of South Elgin was honored as the Business Office Professional of the Year.

 

Jennifer Rood of Heritage Woods of Freeport received the Director of Nursing of the Year award.

 

Rosemarie Rodrigo was honored as the Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year.

Benefit of Assisted Living

A recent article posted on the U.S. News and World Report Health website highlighted how assisted living communities enable older adults to live independently while getting assistance and how the communities differ from nursing homes.

Wii Bowling Championship

Two teams of residents at Gardant-managed communities have advanced to the finals of the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition’s 2023 Wii Bowling Tournament. The team from GateWay at River City in Peoria will be competing against the team from Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook in the Wii Bowling World Series Championship 2023 on Oct. 26 in Springfield, Illinois.

 

The GateWay community serves individuals 22 to 64 years of age with disabilities. Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook serves adults 65 and older. Both communities are certified for the Illinois Supportive Living program.

Celebrating 10 Years of Service

St. Anthony Supportive Living of Lansing recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Since opening in the summer of 2013, the community has served nearly 600 adults 65 years of age and older who have needed assistance to maintain their independence.
