Another successful IDIDAHIKE for the books! Led by the North Florida Trail Blazers with help from surrounding chapters, this incredible team of volunteers hosted a fun-filled event and weren't fazed little rain!
Participants were in good spirits and it turned out to be a great adventure for all.
With Leave No Trace best practices in mind, small groups of a little more then a dozen hikers started their treks. Volunteers arranged shuttles for the hikers, and had options to get out at designated exits to be shuttled back to the start. Later in the day a huge homemade feast of spaghetti and salad with some other special treats was enjoyed by everyone.
The 2023 IDIDAHIKE may be the biggest chapter lead fundraiser FTA has ever had with over $17,000 gross revenue and about 350 tickets sold. Wow! What a great, low-impact way to show off a beautiful section of trail while raising funds to effectively maintain, protect and promote the Florida Trail. Thanks everyone for all your dedication and participation!
