Join us at Summer Coffee Hour 10:00am (after service).

Our popular course: Aging & Spirituality will be offered again beginning September 26 from 12-3:00 PM. It will last eight weeks. Deacon Nancy has worked hard to revised the curriculum based upon the comments and suggestions of the first group.

It begins with a session on the aging process. We then move on to the Enneagram, spiritual needs and practices, discerning spiritual gifts, transitioning from a worldly-self (ego-self) to more true-self, and discerning vocation – the use of our spiritual gifts. Another session is on moving our idea of death from taboo to welcome. Classes cover discussion of the text  for the week and then move into the topic for the day. There will be small group, individual, and full group work as well as lecture and discussion. For the $35 registration fee each participant will be given the syllabus, the text, two articles about “shadow side,” and a link to a You Tube video by the author of the text. (Readings and video should be completed before the course begins.) You will also receive a book with all the PowerPoint slides on the first day of class. We will be able to take 12 participants in this offering. It is suggested you register early to get a place and to begin reading!

Time and dates:

Tuesdays, September 26 through November 14, 12:00pm to 3:00pm

Cost: $35

Contemplative prayer is a practice of centering yourself in prayer and opening to God's presence. After Prayer we will move to the Lounge for lunch and book discussion. We will be reading books that deepen our spiritual journey and challenge us to broaden our theological understanding.

Morning Prayer

Every Wednesday at 9:30am

Start your Wednesday with Morning Prayer.

Recovery Dinner Church Sat. 8/26, 5:30pm

Come see John in Deathtrap!

Deathtrap

A Thriller Comedy by Ira Levin

Directed by Jack Neary

Comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college—a thriller that Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway smash. Sidney’s plan, devised with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student for co-credit. Or is it?
