Looking for Spring Semester Textbooks?
Please follow CEC's recommended steps:

  1. Borrow your textbooks - CEC Westminster has a small selection of textbooks available to borrow in our office library - complete the Textbook Request Form in the link below, and we will let you know whether or not we have the book(s) you need. There is no fee for borrowing books from our office! We just ask that you treat borrowed books with the same respect you would for any book you borrow from a library.
  2. Rent your textbooks - If CEC Westminster doesn't have the book(s) you need, look into renting the textbook through the community college bookstore or through an online textbook rental service like Amazon or Chegg. Renting textbooks is a more affordable option than purchasing your textbooks. Rental textbooks may be eligible for reimbursement if you have remaining funds at the end of the semester. Be sure to hold onto your receipt and know the terms of your rental agreement - don't forget to return your rental books by the due date!
  3. Purchase your textbooks - If the book(s) you need are not available to borrow or rent, you may need to purchase your textbooks from your community college bookstore or an online textbook retailer. If you purchase your books, we recommend keeping the original packaging on until your class meets, to ensure it is the book that will be used - it is easier to return un-needed books in their original packaging. Purchased textbooks, both real books, and e-books, are eligible for reimbursement request, so be sure to hold onto your receipt and remember you will need to give the book to CEC if you are reimbursed for it. Or, you may choose to keep the book - CEC does not provide reimbursement for books you decide to keep.
If the textbook you want to borrow is available, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to schedule your pick up time for January 12th or January 19th.
Textbook and Laptop reimbursement information will be included in an upcoming newsletter, later this spring. Be sure to hold onto your receipts, as well as the syllabus or materials list showing your books were required for your classes this semester.

Did You Receive a Bill from the Community College?
Wait - isn't CEC supposed to cover my tuition?!?!
Sometimes the community colleges will accidentally send you a bill or you may see a statement with a balance owed when you log into your community college student account - it may even show past due! Don't Worry! You do not need to pay this bill. Processing all of our CEC students takes time and there may be overlaps in communication between the community college and CEC.
If you ever exceed your funds for the school year, Colorado Early Colleges will bill you directly at the end of the year. If you have any questions or are wondering if you need to pay a bill you received from the community college, please reach out to your advisor to confirm, before you pay.
