The Archdiocese of Louisville recently announced that it will once again host a Priest Variety Show on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Saint Xavier High School in the Brown-Forman Cultural Arts Center. The event will kick off with a reception at 6 p.m. where guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while enjoying the opportunity to view some of our talented priests’ artwork, photography, and writings. Live music will be performed during the reception by one of our favorite priests and his band. The talent show will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
The event was last held in January 2023 to benefit the Catholic Services Appeal. Over 500 people attended the sold-out live show and an additional 300 people logged in to watch the show on Facebook Live. Guests enjoyed seeing performances by several of their favorite priests that included singing, a clown, a monologue, a comedian, a mariachi band, and more!
Proceeds from the upcoming show will benefit the Seminarian Education Fund. The number of seminarians has increased again this year and currently there are 19 seminarians in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Seminarian education has become one of the largest financial responsibilities for the Archdiocese each year. This year, it will cost over $1 million to fund the formation of our seminarians. Special events such as the Priest Variety Show help raise the necessary funds to fully support our seminarians.
Archbishop Shelton is pleased that this event will be happening again in 2025. “The Priest Variety Show is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a Catholic community for an evening of fun and laughter. This event will also raise funds for the formation of our seminarians here in the Archdiocese of Louisville and I am grateful to our priests for their participation. Like you, I am in awe of their many talents and look forward to enjoying the show!”
What special talents do your parish priests have? Encourage them to register to participate in the show!
The Priest Variety Show is expected to be another sold-out event and only a few dozen tickets remain. Tickets are available here. Handicapped seating is available and can be purchased by contacting Melissa Herberger.
