It's official! Our new home is at 4111 Fannin, Suite 100

The Collective is thrilled to announce its relocation to the Ion, a dynamic hub for innovation and collaboration in Houston. This move, which took place during the first week of November, marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to foster cultural enrichment and artistic expression within the community.

The new location at the Ion, facilitated through a strategic partnership with Rice Real Estate Company and Rice University, will provide CAC with enhanced resources and opportunities to expand its impact. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to supporting the arts and fostering a vibrant cultural landscape in Houston.

Cultural Significance of the Community Artists’ Collective

For over three decades, the Community Artists’ Collective has been a cornerstone of Houston’s cultural and artistic community. The Collective’s programs and initiatives have empowered countless artists, provided vital arts education and enriched the cultural fabric of the city. The move to the Ion represents a new chapter in our storied history, offering a state-of-the-art space that will enable the organization to continue its mission with renewed vigor.

We invite you to come and experience our new space during our Ashé Holiday Market on December 12-21. We're open Thursday through Saturday from 12 noon until 5 p.m. and by appointment.

About The Ion

The Ion is a leading innovation district in Houston, designed to bring together entrepreneurs, corporations, academics and the broader community to collaborate and drive innovation. The inclusion of The Collective within the Ion’s ecosystem highlights the importance of integrating arts and culture into the fabric of technological and entrepreneurial advancement.

“We are excited about the opportunities this move presents,” said April M. Frazier, the Assistant Director of The Collective. “Our new location at the Ion, in partnership with Rice Real Estate Company and Rice University, will allow us to reach new heights in our mission to support and celebrate the arts in Houston.”

Co-Founder and Executive Director Michelle Barnes adds, “Since its inception, we have dreamed and planned for growth and enhanced reach in the community, and we believe this partnership positions us to continue our mission to provide the link to arts and culture to inspire unlimited creativity.”

“Rice University is proud to support the Community Artists’ Collective in this new venture,” said Sam Dike, Investment Manager of Strategic Investments. “The arts are a vital part of our community, and this partnership reflects our dedication to fostering a rich cultural environment.”
