The CUES SPR II (Steerable Pipe Ranger II) is a rugged and versatile robotic camera transporter designed to traverse silt, mud and debris commonly found in storm and sanitary sewers. SPR II includes single-point wheel removal for QUICK configuration changes in varying pipe sizes and conditions. Optional high traction tires are available for extreme slippery conditions. The unit operates with all CUES inspection systems with up to 2000’ of single-conductor or multi-conductor cable to inspect 7”-72” diameter pipe.

Repairing, rehabilitating, or replacing manholes are large expenses for sewer utilities. The consequences of manhole asset failures are significant and may impact the proper function of sewers resulting in sewage leaks or overflows. Sewer utilities can reduce operation and maintenance costs by implementing a routine underground inspection program that identifies defects and safety issues before an asset fails.

This presentation will cover the importance of detailed manhole inspections to document a sewer system and then subsequent less detailed inspections. We will also present how this data can be used to reduce costs and risks.
