Washington State PTA's Focus Day is an opportunity for all PTA members to advocate with our state elected officials, and to share the WSPTA Legislative Priorities for the session. There are three main ways to participate this year:

  1. Sign up to get action alerts through the WSPTA Action Alert Network: You will get email alerts about the legislative session and links to quick, online actions you can take to support our priorities. This will be particularly active during Focus Day!
  2. Attend Focus Day in person in Olympia! WSPTA has reserved the Columbia Room in the Legislative Building on Monday, Feb 20. The event will kick off around 9:30AM, and will include several guest speakers and opportunities to tour the capitol. Tickets are now available. They are encouraging participants to consider wearing PTA blue if attending in person.
  3. Schedule a meeting with your elected officials to share our PTA Legislative Platform! This can be done either in person (on Focus Day), or virtually (ideally between Feb 1-20). If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please contact advocacy@LWPTSA.net to coordinate before requesting a meeting.

STEAM Night
Science. Technology. Engineering. Art. Math.

Norman Rockwell PTA is proud to host Family STEAM Night on March 9th from 5:30PM - 7:30PM (Rockwell Gym). This is a fun event for the whole family where you'll get to play math logic games, learn about climate change, play musical instruments, build, design & explore all sorts of exciting STEAM projects. Please join as we encourage a passion for all things STEAM in our young students.

Family STEAM Night relies very heavily on help from parent volunteers. Please consider volunteering for an hour to help. Please email events@normanrockwellpta.org if you would like to participate or help on the 9th.

Volunteers Needed to help with
New Kindergarten Parent Meeting

Thursday, February 23rd
1:00PM - 7:00PM

We need volunteers working in shifts to greet new Kindergarten families and assist them to log in and register online (for those who have not already). There are a variety of two-hour shifts available. Please CLICK HERE to sign up and greet our newest families with your Beagle Best welcome. 5th Grade Baby Photos

It's a Rockwell tradition that we include 5th grade student's baby photos in the yearbook!

If you'd like to participate in this tradition, please send a baby photo to yearbook@normanrockwellpta.org.

Please send a high/full resolution photo & include your student's name & teacher in the filename (example: AmySmith_Harris.jpg)

Deadline is March 10th, 2022.
Math Challenge #10
Due by Thursday, March 2nd

Thank you to all who participated in Math Challenge #9. The winners of this will be notified next week.

Math Challenge #10 is now available HERE.

For this challenge, lucky prize winners will be randomly selected from qualified submissions. Please feel free to try more questions than the minimum required for your grade level to qualify. Grab some friends and family and work on the challenges together!

Once your student completes the challenge, email their paper by the due date to mathchallenge@normanrockwellpta.org

The due date for Math Challenge #10 is Thursday, March 2nd.

February Recess Volunteers Needed

A new month means a new recess wrangler sign up! This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity; you may sign up for as many shifts as you wish!

We need 6-8 volunteers helping every day at morning recess and lunch recess shifts from 12:15PM - 1:20PM. You can sign up for an entire shift or part of a shift.

We also need lunchroom helpers every day from 11:55AM - 1:00PM.

New and Experienced Recess Wranglers: Your help during recess is greatly appreciated by the staff. Sign up for a February recess time here.
