Dear colleagues,

Last week, we had the privilege of joining SEA leaders from across the country at CCSSO’s Instructional Materials and Professional Learning (IMPD) Network convening. It was inspiring to be in a room full of leaders dedicated to supporting strong teaching and learning through high-quality instructional materials and curriculum-based professional learning (CBPL). Rivet is proud to partner with several of these state agencies to create robust vendor marketplaces to support CBPL, and we are excited about our new partnerships with Arkansas, Louisiana, and Massachusetts.

As our work with states continues to grow, so is our team. We are excited to announce that Dr. Robin McClellan will join our team on February 27 as Rivet's new Director of Partnerships to cultivate and lead client engagements with our SEA and LEA partners. This spring, Robin will support school systems in Massachusetts in their implementation of Wit & Wisdom as part of the state's High-Quality Instructional Materials Implementation Grant and provide consulting support to SEAs in the IMPD Network that are piloting our new tool RivetCONNECT.

Robin brings a wealth of knowledge of implementing high-quality instructional materials to our team based on her extensive experience serving the teachers and students of Sullivan County, Tennessee. You can learn more about Robin below.

Please join us in welcoming Robin to the Rivet family!

Regards,

Annie and Litsy

Dr. Robin McClellan
Director of Partnerships

Robin has served Tennessee teachers and students for twenty-six years as an elementary teacher, principal, and Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. During her tenure as the elementary supervisor in Sullivan County, Robin spearheaded the implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) across the district’s eleven elementary schools, which she considers the greatest learning and leadership journey of her career. She also served as a reviewer for Rivet’s Professional Learning Partner Guide.

Robin then served as Assistant Commissioner of Academics and Instructional Strategy at the Tennessee Department of Education. She managed the state’s nationally recognized Early Reading Training program, which provided over 10,000 teachers and leaders with curriculum-based professional learning (CBPL) grounded in HQIM. Robin also led the Literacy Implementation Network, a collaborative of 48 districts that developed cohesive and coherent implementation strategies to support HQIM.

Most recently, she served as the Regional Director for Customer Success at Amplify, where she led a team that supported districts' use of the company's instructional materials.

As Rivet’s Director of Partnerships, Robin will cultivate and manage partnerships with state education agencies to scale districts' use of HQIM and CBPL. Her role supports the organization’s vision of ensuring all educators have the best resources and support to provide all students with the education they want and deserve,

Robin holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education, and Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University.
