At a large and growing church like ours, small groups provide a vital avenue for connecting in fellowship and sharing life with one another as we grow together in Christ. A small group can help a big church feel small. Looking for photographers! We’d love for you to be a part of Fall Photos and Fun Festival outreach on September 23, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, and take pictures of families in our community. We’re excited to bless families in our local community, and you’d be a huge part of that! Email Michelle at mgustavson@christcovenant.org if interested.

Everyone is invited to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month for Christ Covenant Outreach Nights, called O Nights. Our next one is this Tuesday, August 15, from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. This is a great opportunity to serve together, to pray for our community, and to see God work in another way as we share the gospel with our community and neighbors.

All men ages 16 and older who enjoy playing golf are invited to come play a round of golf at Monroe Country Club on Saturday, August 19, 2023, with tee times beginning at 11:00 am. All of our families that have students in 6th-12th grade are invited to an Open House Breakfast Potluck on August 20, from 9:30-10:30 am in the Community Life Center (CLC). Whether you are brand new to the church or have been here your whole life, our staff would love to connect with you, and give you all a chance to connect with other youth families! We will spend a few minutes recapping our summer, introducing our staff, talking through our ministry goals, and giving information about this upcoming year’s schedule. The pastors and elders of Christ Covenant Church hope you will join us for a special time of prayer for all our children and college students. This special time of prayer will take place during the Sunday evening worship service on August 20, at 6:00 pm. During the school year, our leadership will refer to these cards often as they pray for children, students, and their parents. As always, each request will be handled confidentially.

All Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) wives and female students are invited to a special welcome dinner with Christ Covenant Women’s Ministry! Join us for dinner, fellowship, and to learn how to get connected at Christ Covenant. We will gather on Monday, August 21, from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, in the Community Life Center rooms 1 & 2 (CLC). The dinner is free, but we do ask that women register by August 16 by clicking here.

All are invited to participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer on Tuesday, August 22. There are two ways you can participate. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to the Covenant Day School Conference Room located in the A Building (this room is located next to the church’s main office) anytime between 7:30 am – 7:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of our congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here. We are having a combined Sunday School with all the adults in the sanctuary for our Sunday School Kickoff. All middle and high school students will meet in the lower level of the Community Life Center (CLC). All children from newborn to fifth grade will go to their new classes. Parents can drop off their children before coming to the sanctuary. 

Do not miss this exciting kickoff to learn how we can “Gather & Grow” together as a church family. We will have a time to gather for fellowship and refreshments in the lobbies of the worship center before the adult Sunday School begins, and we will have a time to grow together as we hear from our Senior Pastor Kevin DeYoung and other staff about the vision of Christ Covenant Church’s Sunday School.

In May we shared our prayer that God would provide the 250+ volunteers that we need for this coming year by July 31. God has sent us over 200 volunteers already, and we are almost fully staffed for the upcoming year. We are still praying for nine empty spots during the 9:00 am Sunday School hour, one team leader during the 9:00 am Sunday School hour, and nineteen empty spots during the 10:45 am worship hour. If you think that one of these roles could be for you, please email Abigail at acerrato@christcovenant.org as soon as possible as we are hoping to be fully staffed in the next week.

Christ Covenant’s HisAbilities ministry needs volunteers for our upcoming Fall Respite Night, Saturday, October 14, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, in the lower level of the Community Life Center (CLC). This is an opportunity to come alongside Christ Covenant families impacted by disability by providing a few hours of respite for parents while their children are cared for and engaged by a team of volunteers providing a safe environment with a variety of fun activities! Volunteers must be a member of Christ Covenant, but no experience with disabilities is needed to serve and our volunteers find the evening to be a rich blessing and a great time to make encouraging connections with this special part of our church body!

Respite Night serves parents with children impacted by disabilities or who are living with disability themselves. Training resources will be provided to our volunteers, and we work to make sure our volunteers are serving in a capacity in which they are comfortable. If you would like to serve or learn more about this opportunity, please email Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org. The deadline for volunteer registration is Friday, September 22.  

Women’s fall Bible study registration is open! There are options for daytime and evening studies as well as weekly and monthly studies. Childcare is offered for certain daytime studies. Visit the Women’s Ministry webpage to learn more.

Two of our supported workers are transitioning to the Charlotte area at the end of October, and they need a vehicle to use during the months of November and December. If you have a vehicle they can borrow during that time, please email Erin McFaddin at emcfaddin@christcovenant.org.
