Annual Catholic Appeal
We invite you to spend some time this week reflecting on the Annual Catholic Appeal materials you should have received in the mail or picked up in church. The Annual Catholic Appeal is much more than a one-time special collection: It is. a pledged commitment to make a gift over time. Your pledge can be made payable in installments.
Each pledge makes a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable our archdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services to answer the call of "Walking on the road with Jesus."
If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back. This year, we also encourage you to click the button below and make your Annual Appeal gift online.
| |
Remember that donations in excess of our Appeal Goal are returned to OLBS in the form of a rebate. This year, OLBS will direct rebate funds to install screens in the vestibule, add a video security system at QR and put glass lites in the church doors at SJE. Discover more. | |

Your Opinion Matters at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament!
Does our parish help you grow spiritually? How good are we at connecting you to others in the parish? In what ways do you feel invited to share your talents at our parish? Your honest answers to these types of questions are what will make Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament a better faith community. This Lent, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament will participate in a brief, parish-wide survey. The survey will open on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd and you will be able to complete the survey online, or pickup a paper copy at the parish office.

A Culture of Life
March for Life: New Name. New City. New Day. SAME MISSION...SUPPORT LIFE!
-
New Name: The March for Life Chicago is now the Illinois March for Life
-
New Location: The rally and march move from Chicago to Springfield, IL
-
New Day: Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
-
SAME MISSION: Save Midwestern Lives by marching for life in the public square!
Now, in a Post-Roe era, it is crucial to march where state laws are made and in front of the elected lawmakers. If you would like to join fellow OLBS parishioners in this year's Illinois March for Life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Springfield, Illinois, follow this link to let us know of your interest. Gospel in Focus
February 12, 2023 Jesus gets to the heart of the Jewish Law, and calls the people to something higher... “Do not
think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.” —Matthew 5:17
Discussion Questions
Why do you think Jesus asks us to go beyond just obeying the Law?
Which do you think Jesus values more: obeying the letter of the law, or our change of hearts? Why?
How can you go above and beyond to love your family and friends this week?
