Pastor Glen's focus for his message for

this upcoming weekend:

“Life is a journey,” we say. Faith asks if we know the way. Maybe that why we always feel lost. Sometimes we define “walking in the way of the Lord” much too narrowly. It is a great calling and an amazing adventure! It is life to those who walk daily in death. It is about more than making the right choices – it is about taking the first right step.

SCAM ALERT

Scammers are pretending to be a pastor, rabbi, priest, imam, or bishop. They’re asking worshipers for gift card contributions for a worthy cause.

These appeals are fraudulent. If you receive a phone call, text, or email asking for amazon gift cards, itunes, etc. Feel free to contact the church office to verify. Do not share any personal details.

If you or someone you know paid a scammer with a gift card, report it as soon as possible. Call the card company and tell them the gift card was used in a scam. Here is contact information for some of the gift card companies that scammers use most often. Then, tell the FTC about it at ftc.gov/complaint. Your reports may help law enforcement agencies launch investigations that could stop imposters and other fraudsters in their tracks.

Ruth Circle

Attention: Ruth Circle Bible study members and any other women who would like to join us. We will be meeting on Tuesday, February 14, at 2:00 P.M. in the social room at Johansen Manor. We look forward to seeing you!

Choir News

Did you know...

Singing in a choir builds community. When we sing, we are joined together in a common voice. Whether it's as simple as "Happy Birthday" or as complex as the Hallelujah Chorus, each of our voices matters to the whole. When we come together to sing, we are lifted up and supported by those around us.

The FLC choir rehearses Tuesdays, at 6:30 pm, upstairs in the choir room. Regular attendance is encouraged, but you are welcome to join even if you cannot be at rehearsal every week. For more information and questions, contact Vince, at vkrysl@firstlutheranblair.org

Come, make a joyful noise!
