BIOGRAPHIES

Joanne HansonBonney

Managing Director, Ares Management


Ms. HansonBonney is a Managing Director in the Ares Investment Operations Department. Additionally, Ms. HansonBonney also serves on the Ares Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and is Chair of Ares Black Alliance. Prior to joining Ares in 2013, Ms. HansonBonney was an Operations Manager at Western Asset, where she managed several operational departments during her tenor but focused on managing regulatory initiatives prior to her departure. Ms. HansonBonney holds a B.A. from Columbia University in Urban Studies.


Kristen Hemenez

Senior Vice President, Capital Group


Kristen Hemenez is a Senior Vice President of Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII). She is the senior relationship manager for the BlackRock Solutions Aladdin platform, which is the primary tool for the fixed income investment process, and is part of the CFII Business Management Group. She has 30 years of investment industry experience, all with Capital. In addition to developing a framework for assessing operational risk early in her career, she has also established numerous capabilities and overseen multiple operational groups focused on supporting both the fixed income and equity investment process. Kristen was a co-founder of Capital Women, is a member of the Capital DEI Steering Committee, and contributes to a variety of Capital Communities and engagement initiatives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles and is based in West Los Angeles.


Jonathan Kaplan

Chief Operating Officer, Canyon Partners LLC


Jonathan Kaplan is a Partner and Canyon’s Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Kaplan joined Canyon in 2007 and oversees all noninvestment business activities for Canyon. Prior to joining Canyon, Mr. Kaplan was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP, practicing there from 1997-2007 as a corporate transactional attorney, representing primarily investment funds, including Canyon and a number of other investment advisors. Mr. Kaplan is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego (B.A., Political Science) and New York University School of Law (J.D.). Mr. Kaplan is a member of the State Bar of California.


Destiny Chamarro

Partner, Ernst & Young LLP


Destiny Chamarro is a Los Angeles-based partner with the Ernst & Young LLP (EY US). She has almost two decades of experience working in various offices through the globe including EY’s offices in Detroit, Zurich, Switzerland and Los Angeles. Throughout her career with EY, Destiny has served large, multinational companies in banking and alternative asset management. Destiny specializes in management companies, private credit and private equity as well as experience with registered funds. In addition to Detroit, Zurich and Los Angeles, Destiny has spent time in the Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, and New Delhi EY offices working with her global teams. Destiny has a broad alternative asset management-focused client base with assets under management ranging from $100m to more than $300b, including private equity funds, fund of funds, and business development companies. Destiny has a Bachelor of Science in Business & Administration from Oakland University. Destiny is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a certified public account in both Michigan and California.
