On July 22, 2024, HeliValue$ held the Q2 2024 pricing meeting. We are at the midpoint of the year, and the market activity has stabilized, showing a mix of positives and negatives, mostly positive. Some asking prices are beginning to decrease, but most are still considerably higher than last year. The overall activity has remained similar to the previous quarter, with buyers taking longer than usual to finalize acquisitions.
Pistons are steady as usual. With such high production numbers, there are frequent transactions, and they appear to be very resistant to economic changes because they are mainly used for private and training purposes.
Light Singles are again the favored aircraft this quarter with the most sales activity. There is now a shortage of available aircraft on the market and sellers have been able to achieve higher sales prices because of this.
Light Twins in EMS configurations are also seeing less supply than there is demand. At the same time, there are plenty of corporate aircraft available as they are not moving as quickly.
Medium Twins picked up a little last quarter with most sales in the offshore and VIP space. With inventory thinning out on the low time VIP machines, this could be good news for some of the higher time machines in the future.
Heavy Twins have seen very few transactions mainly due to very low supply on the market. Values have been steadily tracking upward for most of these machines.
As the years go by, we are seeing less and less sales of offshore aircraft taking place due to the lessors controlling a very large portion of that market. Even though there are fewer offshore transactions taking place, the values have been holding strong and on some they are increasing. Lease rates are also holding strong between 1.0% and 1.35% depending on contracts.
