Celebrating Women's History Month

This month is Women’s History Month, and today is International Women’s Day! We at TravelStorysGPS, a woman-owned and -operated business, are proud to honor these celebrations.

2023 Theme: Stories!

There is a theme for every year’s Women’s History Month celebration. According to the National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA), the theme for 2023 is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories. Obviously, we LOVE to tell stories!

NWHA explains, “The timely theme honors women in every community who have devoted their lives and talents to producing art, pursuing truth, and reflecting the human condition decade after decade. … Women have long been instrumental in passing on our heritage in word and in print to communicate the lessons of those who came before us. Women’s stories, and the larger human story, expand our understanding and strengthen our connections with each other.”

Here's just a sampling of the female storytellers NWHA is recognizing this month: Toni Morrison, Maxine Hong Kingston, Gloria Steinem, Winona La Duke, Willa Cather, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
