Dear CV Cyber Academy Families,
National Random Acts of Kindness Day is on February 17! I encourage all of our Cyber Academy students to find a way to showcase Kindness on this day and every day throughout the year. Encourage your child to put the "I" in Kind by finding ways they can show kindness.
Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2023
Kindergarten registration for Fall 2023 is now open. All school-aged children residing within the Chartiers Valley School District, including students who attend private, parochial, placement, and charter schools, must register with the District registrar. Children turning 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023, are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the fall. For more information, including the complete registration packet and list of required documents, visit the registration page on the District website.
High School Scheduling Reminder
For students in 9th-11th grade, please see the High School section below for important information about scheduling for next year. Regardless if a student plans to remain a Cyber Academy student next year or not, all 9th-11th graders must complete the scheduling information below. For students in the lower grades, information about the next school year will be coming over the next few months.

Help Kids Fight Cyberbullying and Other Mean Online Behavior
Most kids will encounter mean behavior at some point in their digital lives. For some kids, this experience is a blip that's easily forgotten, while for others, it can have deep, long-lasting effects. For parents, the key is staying involved in kids' lives -- both online and off -- so they can step in and offer help if necessary. With guidance from parents and educators, kids can learn how to dodge drama and stand up for others. Check out these tips from Common Sense Education to help your child stand up to cyberbullying.
Winter Weather Reminder - Flexible Instruction Days
If Chartiers Valley has a delay or a Flexible Instruction Day, please note that Cyber Academy students will continue as a normal day.
Important Chromebook Information
Our technology team has recently seen an increase in Chromebook incidents resulting in repairs. This is a reminder that the District's Device Policy does not cover accidental or intentional damage to the device as determined solely by the Chartiers Valley School District. Device insurance is available and can be purchased anytime during the school year. We encourage all families to buy the coverage. Just $20 a year covers accidental damage. Families can purchase device insurance at www.one2onerisk.com. All physical components of the device due to accidental damage, cracked screens, fire, lightning, liquid damage, electrical surge, or theft of the device WITH a police report are covered.

High School

Scheduling - It is that time of year to begin thinking about next school year. For students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, please see the information below. The Program of Studies, course request procedures, and HS scheduling information is now available. Students are encouraged to select rigorous courses based on their academic ability and capacity to manage all aspects of life such as athletics, clubs and activities, and commitments outside of school. CV Cyber Academy students will complete their scheduling request form and submit it to their school counselor no later than February 22.
