SCOUT SUNDAY

Sunday, February 12


Scout Sunday is an annual event which marks the founding of Scouting in America. Together with some of our local Scouts, Aledo UMC will observe Scout Sunday this Sunday, February 12th. Please welcome the Scouts as they join us for worship! 

CONFIRMATION

Sundays, 10:00am, Chapel


Confirmation is understanding membership in the Methodist church and the Wesleyan Theological perspective. It is open to anyone 6th grade and up, including adults. If you are interested in participating in Confirmation this year, please join Pastor Joel at 10:00am in the Chapel.

SECURITY TEAM ORIENTATION

Thank you to all who have volunteered to serve on our church security team! Please mark your calendars for this Sunday, February 12th at 10:00am. We will be joined by a representative from the Parker County Sheriff's Office, who will provide a brief and informative orientation for all security team members. If you are interested in serving on the security team but haven't signed up yet, it's not too late! A sign-up sheet is located at the Connection Center.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent includes the weeks leading up to Easter, and is a time when many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. Join us for this special service where we prepare our hearts to enter the season of Lent.

EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA FAMILY EGG HUNT

Sunday, April 2ND, 12PM


Mark your calendars for Palm Sunday and our annual Easter egg hunt!


We are in need of volunteers to help coordinate the egg hunt and stuff the eggs, as well as donations of empty plastic eggs and candy or egg-sized treats. (Please no chocolate - it melts!)

SUMMER MISSION TRIPS - SAVE THE DATE!

To plan appropriately for these trips, we need volunteers! What we are able to do and the number of students we can take depends on how many volunteers we have: more volunteers = more opportunities! LIFE CARE GROUPS

SUPPORT GROUPS FOR AREAS OF LIFE


Our groups are open to adults in our community who are experiencing life's challenges. We all have difficult times in our lives when we need loving, compassionate support.


  • Alzheimer's Support Group & Kaleidoscope - meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:00pm.
  • Cancer Support Group - meets the second Tuesday of each month

BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES

MEN'S DEVOTIONAL BREAKFAST

Mondays, 7:30am, Chapel



Pastor Joel will be sharing a short devotional with this group. Burritos and coffee will be served. This is an opportunity to meet new people and decompress. The goal is for those not retired, to get back on the road by 8:15, at the latest. A donation of $5 is asked to cover the cost.

JAVA & JESUS

Interested in a weekly women’s group and a good cup of coffee? Lessons center around how we juggle being moms and followers of Christ in a busy world. New study began Thursday, January 12: video series entitled "What the Women Saw".  In this six-session study, we will see Jesus through the unique perspective of women in the Bible. Nursery is provided; no outside reading required. Email Trudy Smith for more info and/or to register for childcare.

We are very well stocked with all other items. Please be sure to check the expiration dates. Donations can be placed in the marked bin in the Narthex. Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting this ministry!
