The Salem Area Safety Council is accepting new members for the upcoming program year through July 31, 2024.
Salem Area Safety Council members can earn a 3% rebate on their Ohio workers’ compensation premium by participating throughout the year. In addition, members can:
· Learn techniques for increasing safety, health, and wellness in their
workplace
· Network and share best practices with other employers in the community
· Identify resources to assist in their workplace accident prevention efforts
· Access risk management information and strategies to reduce their
workers' compensation costs.
“Developing and maintaining a safe workplace is no easy task. The Safety Council Program is a yearlong campaign to provide employers with the tools necessary to implement a safe working environment for all employees,” said Lori Jewell, Executive Director, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. “Each monthly meeting not only includes discussion on pertinent safety issues but also serves as opportunity to network with employers in the community.”
To qualify for the rebate, employers must join or confirm their existing, active membership by July 31, 2024 and meet all rebate requirements by June 30, 2025. The Salem Area Safety Council meets the 3rd Friday of each month at the First Christian Church, 1151 East Sixth Street. All are welcome to attend. The cost to attend is $14 for Chamber members and $19 for non-Chamber members as a catered lunch is provided.
The Salem Area Safety Council is co-sponsored by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Visit https://salemareasafetycouncil.org/ for more information.
