Property taxes are due on June 30, 2023. If paying through your bank, select 'Wheatland County-Taxes' and use your roll number as the account number. For multiple properties, pay separately using the roll number for each property. Click here to view more payment options.


Please note, a 5% penalty will apply to unpaid balances after June 30, 2023 and again on November 30, 2023.


No action is required if you're on the Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP); payments will be adjusted automatically for the new tax year.

Change of Mailing Address


It is important to ensure that your address is correct. Wheatland County sources property ownership and mailing address information from Alberta Land Titles and the certificate of title. The County does not have the authority to alter mailing addresses at the Land Titles Office. It is imperative for property owners to maintain an accurate and current mailing address in their Land Title records.


To update your address, please complete a Change of Address Form and mail the original signed copy to Alberta Land Titles.

Volunteer Firefighters Recruitment


Are you wanting to give back or become more involved in your community? Wheatland County Fire Services is recruiting volunteer firefighters!


Minimum Requirements:

18 years of age

Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers’ licence

No criminal record

Good physical health

2023 Dust Control


Dust control is offered by Wheatland County for landowners or residents within the county who wish to reduce the amount of dust created by vehicles traveling on gravel roads near their homes, businesses, or farms.

A FIRE BAN ADVISORY was declared in Wheatland County on May 2, 2023


This ban represents a moderate fire risk. Permit burning in the County is banned. All outstanding permits are suspended until further notice.

Building a road approach or upgrading your driveway? Wheatland County residents are able to purchase crushed gravel and pitrun at a reduced cost.


Residents are able to redeem gravel tickets between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the set days and locations as outlined below:


June 14 and 15, 2023 – Goldsmith Pit (Cluny)

July 5 and 6, 2023 – Christensen Pit (Carseland)

August 9 and 10, 2023 – Fish Lake Pit (Dalum)

A minimum of one university or college scholarship will be awarded annually to high achieving student(s) currently enrolled in Wheatland County Schools. Eligible applicants who are planning to further their studies in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics in the following year are

invited to apply.

Construction Notices

HWY 564

Alberta Transportation will be completing a bridge replacement on HWY 564, 2.5 miles east of HWY 21, from April 5 - June 30. An onsite detour and reduced speed zone will be in effect for the duration of the project.

Resumption of HWY 817 Construction

Wheatland County received notice that construction on HWY 817, from the Bow River to north of the HWY 901 Junction, and HWY 24 intersection is scheduled to resume in May 2023. The highway will remain open throughout the remainder of construction operations, as the Contractor will employ one-lane alternating closures when workers are present on the highway surface.

Carseland Cole Crescent

Wheatland County is doing sanitary line repairs and reconstruction of Cole Crescent asphalt, sidewalks, and curb/gutter. Construction is planned to begin as weather permits the week of May 15, 2023 and crews are anticipated to be working until mid July 2023.

Rosebud Stormwater Improvements

Wheatland County is doing improvements to the stormwater drainage in various locations along Martin Avenue and Comstock Street. Construction is planned to begin as weather permits the week of May 29, 2023 and crews are anticipated be working until late June 2023.
