Weekly Newsletter 12/09/2022

Dear Parents,

It's beginning to look a lot like holiday time in every single classroom! You are all in for a big treat as my amazing teaching staff is working with your child on holiday gifts that I know you will treasure!

Speaking of gifts, thank you so very much to everyone who has brought in their angel tree gifts to help kids in our school to have an amazing holiday. We will give those gifts to the families on the 21st so please bring them in by then.

Also regarding gifts, many parents have asked me the names of all the teachers in their child's classroom and some suggestions for holiday gifts. When in doubt, gift cards make great gifts! I have put up a list outside the school that has the names of all of the teachers who work with your child as well as the name of our cook and amazing office staff. The list also has their two favorite place to receive gift cards should you need that information.

Our VPK and K/1 classes have been practicing holiday songs that they will share in a little holiday caroling show. Last year we recorded it, but this year we would like to invite parents to see it live. If you can't make it, we will also send a video link. The show will be as follows (NOTE IT IS A DATE CHANGE)

Thursday December 22nd

VPK 10:30 and K/2 11:30

The show will be 15-20 minutes long and will take place outside my office so we can still social distance to some extent. Anyone in the area is invited to see the shows!

Thank you also to everyone who indicated on the chart outside the school if they will be keeping their children home December 23rd when we close at 2 or any days January 3-6. The reason we ask this information is we buy 30-40 gallons of organic milk each week in addition to fresh fruits and vegetables. Historically our numbers go down during this time. By letting us know, we can purchase the amount of healthy foods needed without having it go to waste.

Please remember that as per your signed fee agreement, even though we close the last week in December, tuition is still billed as it is part of your annual payment plan. Please note that if you choose to not send your child the first week in January, tuition is still billed. Our kids in VPK and K/1, these days are NON-Instructional so if they are absent, it is not counted against us.

This week our VPK kids visited the Science Lab. They reviewed the tools scientists use (Pipette & Test Tube) and also learned about mixing colors. They used the pipette to mix primary colors and saw them make secondary colors. They are all true Super Scientists!

Finally, our students in Rainbow, Orange, VPK and K/1 had an onsite fieldtrip today. The Miami Children's Museum came and did a holiday story time and sing along. Please note if your child attended school today in the classes mentioned, you will see a $6 charge for this event.

DATES TO KEEP IN MIND:

Wednesday 12/21 Santa will be here from 7:30-9:00 a.m. for photos and gifts, siblings are invited to be here to take the photos. Please arrive by 9:00 as Santa needs to be on his sleigh by then.
